  • lvl for CoP

hey guys, im a 35 pld/war, and ive been thinkin about gettin CoP. however, ive heard that u cant really do anything in the new areas unless ur mid-high lvl. i dunno the specifics of what that actually is, so im wonderin if i should get CoP now, or not waste my money and wait till im higher.

    any suggestions?
    back, after... 3 months?

The first set of missions in Chains of Promathia begins at level 30, and progresses to the higher levels from there. Most of the areas added in CoP are mission-specific for the most part, so I would say to wait a little while longer, until you're about level 50-60, so you can take advantage of more of the mission content.

Paladin isn't quite the same Paladin, but you should only have trouble with 6-4 as one. I play/have played a Paladin in every mission past the Sacrarium and it works really well.

But 6-4 has been a pain for me. I think all the people capable of finishing it with a Paladin already have.

There are come pretty good XP camps in Chains of Promathia zones, aside from the mission-based content.

At level 35, though you won't have to worry about those for a short while as yet. You can probably hold off buying it for a bit longer.

Nothing wrong with PLD in Chains of Promathia. Beating the missions requires understanding each battle, understanding the resoures your team has available in terms of available jobs and abilities, and following through with the right preparation. Sure, some jobs are better than others, but PLD isn't really terrible in any fight, including mission 6-4.

Most of the battles can be beaten with sufficient preparation as long as you have anything resembling a balanced team.

I agree with this. I remember the Mammet fight and how people said you need BLMs and RDMs, etc. (This was one of the strats that worked well and was being gossiped on our server several months back) We didn't have a single BLM and in fact had only two RDMs. We still beat it on first run throughs (2 runs total) and many groups that day failed even with the "choice combinations"
