  • idea for blink tanking

    hey i was just noticing how nins take far less damage then us...... well i think i simple solution would be for utsusemi/blink spells to only have like a 75% chance to absorb damage, i dont think this would put a stop to nin tanks but it would be just enough to make it even.

    think about it, if you have a shadow image there is still a chance the mob is going to hit you instead of the shadows.....

    wut you guys think?

    I think there have been enough changes to NIN that this isn't needed.

    And especially since how expensive it is for a NIN to Blink tank, having their Shadows only work sometimes is crazy and unfairl.

    Could you imagine a real Ninja with shadows that work only some of the times?

        I'm all for it. I think we'd see more PLDs if NINs were put back in their place. Also, NINs would be less expensive because PLDs would be doing the tanking and NINs could focus on enfeebling and DDing. Something I've felt like they should be doing all along.

          Well depending on your fansy, those shadows can fight back, but really it's just replicating images of self.

          AoE or a touch should destroy it as shadows themselves disappear once you strike them.

          So most of the changes to utsusemi were pretty much on the mark. Though goblie rush was unfair these days @.@

          If it was a real ninja like showing, then really powerful enemies would be able to sense the true ninja among the fakes.

          Wouldn't that just kill blink tanking if utsusemi didn't work on bossess due to their "true sight"

              that would totally screw ninja... nin have been uber-gimped and they need what they have now to tank <.< besides nin arent really DD or enfeebler and there are already tons of pld outhere

                tanks are scarce to find half the time, nin is fine just how it is, it would hardly be fair to do this, because then mobs could land ws's if one of their shadows doesnt protect them, also if theyre using Ichi on their last Ni blink, it could get interrupted, it would just cause a whole mess

                  I dunno, we'll see who SE will hurt the next time around. Seems that in that interview, BLM's are up next on getting hurt. I wonder if they'll fully try and change every single job that's out there. At least what their potential is and what not. As for NIN's becoming gimped. I dunno, they're still popular as hell, and I still see more PLD's on (!) than NIN's to be honest. So, I don't think they're hurting in that department. It would be nice if they give PLD's something to hold up on NIN's. Seeing that everyone loves the free exp they're getting with little work at their end of the bargain. This should change. But hey, who knows. I'm just wishing I guess. What do PLD's need you guys ask?? Better -%dmg both Psy and mag, or anything that will hold us up above or even with NIN's utsu, so that we're even at least desirable to some parties. At this point, MP usage, damage taken and downtimes are PLD's weaknesses.

                    only thing i dont like is pld cant tank some stuff like the joyeuse or some mission mobs but that stuff is no big i mean i dont think i lose pts cuz of nin i make my own lol

                          My post was a little cluttered up there as well T_T. What I wanted to say was, I hope SE gives something to the PLD's that's somewhat above or even equal to NIN's Utsu, so that we're desirable to a lot of parties.

                            That's a grass is green on other side remark...

                            Nin's have it bad as it is. There have been massive utsusemi destruction.

                              Well if the change is that tough for tanking because of emnity. You can always do the "Pulling the Strings" if you are of the proper level and get the Naruko Earrings (Oh, so close to Naruto I'm sure you'll have those fans wanting that fixed >.>) which has an enchantment for +10 enmity. Its effect only last 30 sec. on you though with a 30 min. recharge, but as long as you are using the elemental wheel the change seems almost minor of what they did to Utsusemi.

                              As far as someone hitting a person with Utsusemi up it is possible just not very likely. Out of some 200-300 Utsusemi's I've had to take down to hit I've probably hit the target even with Utsusemi up maybe 2-3 times, still have to take down the shadows though even if you do manage to hit the target it'll probably be that 1 time.
