Get a Warwolf Belt (+5 STR/DEX/VIT and +Enemity) first. Theyre like 100k-150k only. Try to get a Jouyese (sp?). Theyre pretty cool. Not the best for tanking, but every PLD and RDM should have one.

P.S. Kuro's reference to Aegis for head is actually Aegisjalmer, the +enmity head piece from Nidhogg, not the upgraded Relic Shield.

Woops. Sorry, I don't pay enough attention to drops much anymore. After killing Faffy/Nidhogg so many times they all blur together... my main priority is usually hitting the pass button as fast as possible on Andvaranauts.

Skip the Valor gear except for town armor to show off. Frankly the only good piece is the Valor Gauntlets (and they're actually damn nice).

I think when it really comes down to it you're looking at:
Koenig > King's > Gallant/Valor > Adaman

Really I'm not a big fan of Adaman because I can't rationalize putting out that much gil for so little advantage over your Gallant gear.

Don't forget about the Lord's/King's gear. I've got the Lord's Cuirass and Cuisses and they're nice to have once you've used up your top bit of MP, or you're tanking Gods/HNM etc and can use every extra HP you can get. However, unless you are lucky enough to be in posession of the King's gear I would not recommend it once you are lvl 73+.

The Koenig Hands and Head are the easiest to obtain since they drop off Genbu and Seiryu, respectivly. The other three are not as easy, and I would bet there are less than 150 ppl across all servers that have a Koenig Cuirass.

Koenig Cuirass is rare, it's true, but 150 sounds a little low. I know of at least 12 K. Cuirass on Midgardsormr, and it's not even one of the oldest servers.

Having said that, the chances of ever acquiring Koenig pieces other than head and hands is pretty slim for the vast majority of players.

Valor legs and Gloves work I think. Since it gives out more HP and Enmity.
