jic, better to put /p's last so that those macro's can be executed first. could make the difference in a life or death situation that's another reason why i don't do it XD. gets very laggy sometimes having to run all those lines and sometimes might not work

The way the game process the macro's is odd. I've done it both ways and really having says first seems to be slightly faster.

You can try it with /recast also. Just do:

      /ma Cure <me>
      /recast Cure

      vs.

      /recast Cure
      /ma Cure <me>

Both will give you the same result, if it's your first cast you'll see:

      [Cure] 0:00

If it has 2 seconds left you'll see:

      [Cure] 0:02

Regardless of which way you do it. It only changes the effect if you were to add in "/wait 1" between them. Which wait I like to avoid using if I can.

      EDIT:

Actually it isn't odd, it seems to be Asyncronous. So it'll process off multiple things in 1 instance and then process back action in an FIFO method upon it returning. So really how ever you order it isn't important unless you need to put in a break.

For the most part anyway, some things still require an order to work right like equipping something before casting or equipping an arrow before shooting.

            Why can't you just
            /wait 2
            Die!

Die appears almost exactly at the last hit for vorpal

A really old one I used to use during my beta days:

            /ja "Provoke" <t>
            /sh Rar.

And since I'm a pld, I provoked a lot. Eventually people decided to play in with the shouts and followed with a /sh Meow or /sh Moo. and even /sh Woof.

the only /p i have is cover and invincible

              the rest is basic

              /ta <bt>

              /ja "Provoke" <t>

              /ma "Flash" <t>
              /recast "Flash"

              /ja "Cover" <stpc>
              /p {Cover} <lastst>

              /ja "Invincible"
              /p please don't use magic {invincible}

and then you have the cure macro's and the JA macro's , ya pretty basic. I don't use /p cause i don't want to rape the chat log with useless stuff, some can be helpfull to know like when your pt member is covered. It's fun to see a funny provoke macro , but the fun is off when you click it 100+ times

one thing I noticed about everyone's Cure macros was that you can't select other members of your PT to heal them quickly...

                what's with
"/ma Cure <me>" all up and down? you may want to heal someone else in your PT at some point in time, whether you lose hate temporarily (which isn't a bad thing) or there's a link, etc.

                try this:

                /ma Cure <stpc>

when used, a blue diamond appears, now you can switch where you want the Cure spell to go, hit <enter key> and you will begin casting. For easy access, (PC user) use the F-keys to select which member of the PT you want, otherwise you have to tab around; i.e. F1 (you) F2 F3 F4 F5 F6. Play around, you may get pretty good at healing someone besides yourself, may even safe a life >_> <_> <_<

<stpc> defaults to you at the beginning, so I hit my cure macro, typcially Cure 4, wait until the mobs is about to hit me and hit enter. I start the spell and don't get interrupted too much (which pisses me off like you wouldn't believe).

on another note, /p messeges aren't so bad, I usually include one when I provoke and cover; helps the PT know that you're awake and involved, and that they should get behind you. If you want to be creative, more power to you. I still think you're a fag if blather on and on for 3-4 lines about the power of the light and the divine goddess altana guiding your hand to your pants to ... well, I'll leave that to your imagination.

                Savage Blade macro: <Holy> <Jump>ing <Galka>s <bat> <man> <Savage Blade> <t> <tp> <call19>

"<call19>" is the boioioing noise, makes sense with the bunny hop.

I personally finally it annoying when people make macros like "IM GONNA KILL YOU <t>! DIE!" so I don't put anything special into my macros. The only one that have /p in them are my TP report, WS's, Cover and Invincible. Otherwise, its just useless PT spam.

Re: Your Favorite Macros....share the love PLD's!

For the most part I don't like the vanity macros. There's so much information flying down the screen during a battle, I don't need more junk to deal with. I think BRDs are the worst ones with this. They always seem to have the worst freak'n macros.

The best macros I've ever seen came from a WHM in one of my man LSs. We were off to do BCNM40, and her Protectra & Shellra (Or "Group Hug" as I call it.) macro was:

                      /party Go, go Gadget Defense!
                      /magic Protectra <me>
                      /party Turtle Power!
                      /magic Shellra <me>

I just loved those too. I couldn't help but snicker every time I saw those. I wanted to use them myself, but I couldn't bring myeslf to bite them off of her. haha

Re: Your Favorite Macros....share the love PLD's!

I cannot post my macros at the moment cause I am not at my computer... or house for that matter.

But I only have a /p command in my Invinc macro. All of mine are straightforward and business like. The only slightly confusing macro is cover and that is pretty easy. All my cures are set to <me>. If I am needing to cure someone else I just scroll through the menus which is still pretty easy.

Overall, my macros do not have much of a rhyme or reason to them. But I have used the same setup since I was about lvl 37 (finally made a good setup when I got flash). Since I have used them so long, I am very confortable with them and get confused when I go to another job.

Not like anyone cares, but it's funny that I have put my Invinc macro on CTR1 and my Provoke macro on CTR2. Surprisingly I have only miss macroed to my 2 hr twice since lvl 37.
