No, but I've been testing some of the various defensive foods and collected data from other sites.

Here's what I've found so far:
Boiled Crab DEF+27% Cap 50 VIT+2

        Steamed Crab DEF+27% Cap 65 VIT+3

        Fishkabob DEF+25% Cap 90 VIT+2

        Chief Fishkabob DEF+25% Cap 95 VIT+2

        Black Curry DEF+?? Cap ?? VIT+3

        Shallops Tropicale DEF+28.5% Cap 120? VIT+5
The foods haven't really been "nerfed" and Boiled Crab gives more DEF+% than before the update. However, only low level paladins can get the full benefit of crab now because of the cap. As soon as I get some info on Black Curry, I'll make a helpful chart listing which defensive food you should use based on your base defense for optimal boost.

Shallops Tropicale also give DEX+1 INT+1 and MP+20, so assuming you don't die too often it really is the quintessential paladin food now.

If you do die a lot, just get Fishkabobs. They're going for 9k on Bismarck now, up from 5k. I know that's moderately cheap, but even 15k for a stack is low relative to other jobs costs since a full stack lasts 6 hours. A stack of shihei or arrows lasts a fraction of that time and costs nearly as much.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if fishkabobs don't come down in price shortly. Blue Lady and Nebinomites were fished in relatively low amounts because the demand for fishkabobs was only moderate. Now that basically all high level tanks will be using them (or Shallops Tropicale), demand is up, which means more fisherman will supply them. Just give it some time to even out.

EDIT: I personally agree with Lodoss. I like the cooking changes because it adds some variety to the level grinding and to what cooking supplies are demanded. In fact, I'll probably be one of the fishermen helping to supply Blue Lady and Nebonimites very soon.

Yesterday, I used Shallops Tropicale (DEX+1, INT+1, MP+20, VIT+4 and 42DEF added). They are going for 6k on my server and lasted 3hours. The mp bonus is nice and the overall food effect seems to be great.

Im going to lvl up my cooking now, the variety of food makes it worth it now. And being high lvl in fishing, well I wont have to rely on the AH prices.

3 hrs. It's what I used from 67-68 in Bibiki Bay. Cost was 7k, only 4 in AH. I bought 3 of em. Went back later and the price was 8k with 3 more sold after me and 1 up.

It's a mid 80's cooking synth. I think I am going to level cooking on a mule for it unless a better alternative is discovered.

I was paying 22k for 12 hours of xp on Steamed crab. Now I pay 28-32k for those same 4 hours. Is it worth it? I dunno. But don't cry about leveling costs unless you are a Ranger

So Boiled Crabs will only work if you're levle 50?? And beyond that you're pretty much already SoL'd?? I don't quite understand what's going on yet, but this is making me want to switch to Fishkabobs due to that level cap. Can someone explain more as to how that works?? I'm trying to understand it and since Boiled Crabs only work for 50 (with the benefits), what do you get if you use it beyond 50 (it's what I have right now, since I barely make any HQ's off Boiling Crabs).

P.S. Making Fish mith's are hell to make cause of the ingredients, now wondering, um...did they also nerf the results from 12->6 like the Mith kabobs??

The "caps" are just a max defensive bonus that the food will given. For example, if you had 400 defense and used a Boiled Crab, you'd normally gain 108 defense, bringing you to 508. However, the max defense bonus you can get from Boiled Crab is 50, so it'd only bring you to 450 defense instead.

That's why boiled crab is nice for low level jobs (where there defense is 190 or less) but other foods are better for high level jobs, because they can make full use of the higher defense cap.

Thank you for posting this thread and all the information. I was wondering why my Defense and Vitality was so low after consuming my Boiled Crab on Monday's Onzozo training session. I wonder how attack-based foods have been modified (read: nerfed) or even magic-bonus foods?

P.S. Since attackers primarily used Mithkabobs, and with the galkans eating raw stuff, I wonder which one got nerfed, if there is one.
