So i was playing FFXI when one of my friends sends me a tell saying hes gonna be the most powerful paladin... so i ask how. After much deliberation, he finally says... excalibur. i have no idea what hes talking about since iv never heard of this before. anyone else know about this? Supposedly teaches WS knights of the Round. Any info on this would be great or maybe a link to were i can read some about it. Thanks ahead of time for the info.

Excalibur is a final stage version of the relic sword. By doing tasks in dynamis, mostly gathering a lot of currency and assertion and fighting certain NMs. To get Excalibur it would take a few years of playing. It is the ultimate sword in the game.

My RDM friend Discordian is determined to be the first player (or at least, first NA player on Midgardsormr, since we can't verify when other people get it) to have the sword. At the moment, I believe he's upgraded possibly to stage 2 (I know he's done stage 1). That means many many many millions of gil, lots of hours in dynamis, and a ton of patience. He's been lv75 for...at least 9 months, maybe more. Have fun getting it...I don't envy anyone who would actually try to get this sword.

The rumor of Lei having excalibur was some false one spread around about a month or two ago. He has dynamis sword or whatever, and is waiting for attestations for both his 1hs and great sword as of last month. I don't know if he got an attestation in this recent month, but I know the rumor of him having excalibur is more than a month old (which is why several people /checked him and found him with dynamis sword, dispelling the rumor).
