Well, to say the least my battle with Mr. Maat went quite well. There wasn't too much to say about it.
Since I wasn't getting any exp parties I decided that I should just go up against Maat and try things out against him, see how tough he was. So I did the usual
1xIcarus Wing
1xVile Elixer
10xHi-Potions
12xEye Drops
1xBoiled Crab
Basically when I entered the BCNM I did the usual, Pro III/ Shell III. Yeah I was level 69, and I didn't expect to beat him either.
So after healing myself, I went up, charged TP up to 34% then used the Icarus Wing. Immediately went off with Vorpal Blade. He does Banish III and then I shield bash to stop it. Basically I healed myself with mp using Cure IV and then used 2 Hi-Potion in between. Eventually my hp and mp got about 50%, that's when I busted out the Vile Elixer. Somehow it had gotten to the point where he did invincible, I followed suit and used about 4 more hi-potions. After invincible wore off, I kept after him, healing with cure IV and using Hi-pots.
Somewhere around the end I found myself with only 33 mp left, and didn't want to waste it all so I decided to use Flash for the first time, it was enough to hold off on the damage so that I could bust him with a last vorpal and kick his sorry ass.
BTW whenever he casts flash I used an eyedrop, macro them, it'll help. I'm not so sure about using Flash, but I maxxed out healing before the fight so I could get the most hp out of cure IV (373). Even though I bashed his first BanishIII he still cast that on me 2 other times, and I had to take it. The 4th and last time he cast it on me, I somehow had interrupted his casting.
He hit me from 24-124 damage per hit. I went in not expecting to beat him, and came out on top. Yay for me... I guess.
