Ok so I got my joyuese last night and I have to say this sword rocks. My only question now is, is there even a point for me to keep any other swords now? Yeah a gluttony or espadon+1 is nice for the vit but xp mobs are getting to the low IT and VT lvls now for the most part. I figure, anything that is hitting me so hard I have to worry about how much vit I have isn't going to be a regular xp and I would be using a staff anyway (faust, zipacna, gods, etc.) So what should I do, should I keep my old gluttony and my 34 vit or just move to the joyuese comepletely and hold aggro better for a little increase in damage?

    maybe keep gluttony for BC60?

other than that ditch everything else, like you say any serious NM you will be using earth staff.

I've never done a bcnm and probably never will, but if I did I could just pickup my old AF1 or buy a cheap sword at the AH for the fight.

The only reason I see of wanting to keep a backup sword (prefferably gluttony or espadon +1) is when fighting mobs with very nasty TP attacks. Cuz not only does Joyeuse build your tp but the mob's tp as well. But this is a rare occasion since, from an HNM hunting point of view, you mostly have to use Earth Staff anyhow.

Sell them all! Joyeuse is hands down the best sword for a paladin! I kept my Gluttony for BC60 and other reasons though...

Yeah I think I will just sell my gluttony now. I have a second question now, for the jobs that can use them only brd/rdm/pld would actually use this sword but a few ppl in my shell keep telling me well brds or rdms should get preference over plds b/c they don't get as good swords as pld and they have more use for a joyeuse. This is what I don't understand, except for soloing brd and rdm shouldn't even really be drawing a sword unless it is to spirits within at the start of a fight. Pld on the other hand seems to put this sword to much better use, more hits and more ws = easier aggro control. So what does everyone else think?

Seems to me the people in your shell are either just ignorant, or they have BRD/RDM jobs or friends who want the sword.

BRD and RDM perform their jobs the same whether they have Joyeuse or not, where on the other hand Joyeuse will help PLD perform their job a LOT better.

It's a question of who would benefit more from the Joyeuse... PLD hands down. RDM would only use it for soloing (oh boohoo) and BRD..... to show off? We can use them in XP PT's (makes big difference), HNMs, whatnot.
I believe in karma. Anyone I treat badly probably deserved it.

The only thing I (as a BRD) would have a use for Joyeuse would be for mashing Maat.

I'd love to have one for myself, but I'll be hard pressed to get a PT do go smack up Charybdis just so I can have it when PLDs can use it far more ably than I.

So, come Maat time... I'll ask my friendly neighboorhood Joyeuese-swinging PLD to let me borrow his. ^^

                    meaning borrow = NO YUO!

DRG can use it too, and I think they come 3rd after PLD and WAR (since they can use it for a more effective Spirits)

Bummers. Guess I'll have to go back to the original plan of getting the LS to make a special BRD trip to smack up on Charybdis (fortunately, there are only 2 PLD in level range to use it ahead of me, and possibly a DRG in the next few weeks :spin: )

Not particularly... owing to the fact that he's very out of the way and that getting his TOD is difficult.

But if you do camp him... you won't know if his clock is up or you have 1 hour or 24 hours for it.
