i know the recepies for all parts, but i am just wondering how to uncurse the things. i heard that you have to go and fight a HNM with the cursed item in your inventory slot and you will get some "abjuration" that you take back to a san' doria priest. does anyone know if this is true? im also confused with the koenig gear and the kaizer gear, the recepie for kaizer gear is the Cursed *place name here* -1 is it like when you craft a high quality item it gives you a +1?

btw here are the crafting recipies (i think these are the right ones but please correct me if im wrong)

Cursed Schaller + abjuration from seiryu = Koenig Schaller

GoldSmith/Veteran & BlackSmith & Alchemy : <Fire>Platinum Chain Platinum Sheet Gold Ingot Copper Ingot Darksteel Sheet Cermet Chunk Sheep Leather
    (produces Cursed Schaller)

Cursed Cuirass + abjuration from Aspidochelone?AKing Behemoth?ANidhogg (i dont know if its all three or just one of them) = Koenig Cuirass

GoldSmith/Veteran & Alchemy : <Fire>Ocl. Ingot Platinum Chain Platinum Sheet Platinum Ingot Cermet Chunk Darksteel Cuirass
    (produces Cursed Cuirass)

Cursed Handschuhs + abjuration from genbu = Koenig Handschuh

    GoldSmith/Veteran & Alchemy : <Fire>Darksteel Gauntlets Platinum Ingot*2 Cermet Chunk
    (produces Cursed Handschuhs)

Cursed Diechlings + abjuration from King Behemoth = Koenig Diechling

GoldSmith/Veteran & Alchemy : <Fire>Platinum Sheet Platinum Ingot Darksteel Cuisses Cermet Chunk
    (produces Cursed Diechlings)

Cursed Schuhs + abjuration from Aspidochelone?AFafnir = Koenig Schuhs

    GoldSmith/Veteran & Alchemy : <Fire>Platinum Ingot*2 Cermet Chunk*2 Darksteel Sabatons
    (produces Cursed Schuhs)

i dont know if these three count into the set but since they are koenig i will put them in anyways

    Koenig Shield
Veteran/GoldSmith & Smithing <Earth> Adaman Sheet Gold Ingot Gold Sheet General's Shield

    Keonigs Knuckles
Smithing/Veteran & Goldsmithing : <Fire>Darksteel Sheet Gold Ingot Mercury Diamond Knuckles

    Koenigs Belt
    LeatherWork/Master : <Earth>Manticore Leather*2 Gold Chain

(is there a sword to go along with all of these items? because it looks like there is one by the sword the guy is holding on the picture that was posted earlier by bside. are there other items in the koenig series that i am not aware of?)

    thanks in advance

first of all, Abjurations r Rare/EX item dropped by certain HNM's, and doesn't require anyone in a fighting party to have a cursed item in their inventory; it's dropped without to that regard. once u have the cursed item and CORRESPONDING Abjuration, the priest in San d'Oria will uncurse it. the final production is Rare/EX, as shown in the nuvas' pics.

correct. Kaiser series of armors r the final productions of "whatever" -1's, which r HQ ones of regular cursed items. thus, whether the uncursed ones will be Koenig or Kaiser is already determined at this stage.

just so u know, in japanese release, the regular one is named "Žô‚í‚ꂽ<whatever>" thus means "Cursed," while the -1's r named "âM‚ç‚ꂽ<whatever>" which is more like "Haunted." yet, "Haunted" and "âM‚ç‚ꂽ" have a slightly different nuance, so s-e must have decided to use "-1" instead.

Abjurations required to uncurse each r NOT detemined by which NM's drop it, but by the Abjuration's designation. (meaning, require CORRESPONDING Abjurations.)

for instance, to uncurse the Cursed Cuirass, which will become Koenig Cuirass, u'll need "M. Abjuration: Bd." the first "M" part is more specific in japanese name, but that's the way it's translated. anyways, for Koenig, u'll need "M" Abjurations, and each body part is specified by abbreviations, such as Bd. for Body in this example.

note that whether HQ or not, it's still the same Abjuration u'll need to uncurse. meaning, "M. Abjuration: Bd." can uncurse both Cursed Cuirass and Cursed Cuirass -1.

not that i know of. the one in the picture probably is a Company Sword or one of that sort. i took that picture off of the picture board, and whoever made that screenshot just put a sword in for cosmetic purpose, and i didn't bother asking which one that is.

I thought this would be a good post to bring up my questions on CHR for PLDs.
It seems that PLDs naturally gain CHR fairly well (at least compared to WARs and MNKs from waht i know), and their Artifact armor and this set of armor (especially this!) raise CHR substantially. So...um...plz dont rant at me...im still a noob....but....wouldn't it seem very very possible that CHR is quite useful to PLDs for provoke (and possibly other abilities/magic/other stuff)? Thankyou for any reply.

imo, this much of VIT boost does help in parties, while the boost of only like 5-10 usually doesn't. when all the set is put on, it gives +60 VIT and CHR, and +170 HP, along w/ losses of -30 in STR and DEX. while the great losses in STR and DEX will make it harder to generate hate out of normal attacks, CHR will then help w/ holding hate, if like said in various sources having more CHR does indeed build more hate.

these armors r clearly made to be a tank. no damage giving in mind.

having said that, PLD's attacks, although they r very low, do help in usual leveling parties. 1 attack might be too low to even discuss about, but the sum of those attacks will be high enough to take a look. so these will be more usuful in HNM fight situations, rather than leveling parties.

just my opinion, so if ppl have rather different point of view, feel free to oppose...

in various sources including japanese forums, it's been said that having more CHR helps w/ getting more hate. however, no one has yet tested this to prove it. so that's all based on ppl's opinions there.

it is true, hoever, when there's a stat bonus on AF armors, that usually means such stat is usuful to the corresponding jobs. as w/ MNK's head part, which gives bonus in MND, ppl first thought it was a useless bonus, but it was later found that having more MND results in more damage from Chi Blast.

personally, i do believe CHR does help w/ generating more hate, coz otherwise, nothing can explain why these armors have so many CHR bonuses.

Ya i agree with you Bside that CHR does allow you to get hate....but what about for like a BRD, if that was the case, theyd be getting agroed alot more than most of them usually do.

Do you think that maybe CHR increases hate for some abilites and decreses it for others (depending on your job)?

It should also be wondered why WARs are as charismatic as they are, if CHR didn't affect Provoke... I think the stat is a C or something for them, but that's a lot higher than you would expect for a melee job. Since WAR is the job that gives you Provoke, it makes some degree of sense... although correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think WAR AF gives +CHR? It does of course have a lot of +Enmity, though...

Wonder if CHR affects any PLD-specific job skills. You would think they wouldn't give us a stat that only helps our sub...

                              I've read somewhere that 2 chr = 1 enmity.

Assuming this is true, it kinda does makes sense that War has high chr and AF has +enmity.

I believe +chr helps paladin with any action they take to receive hate ...maybe because of the enmity passive bonus?

hmmm, the 2 chr = 1 emnity would make sense but I had also heard seperate theories that CHR made provoke stronger but +emnity only made attacks gather more hate so I guess that would cancel each other out... Unless one of theories are wrong...
