So I bring my 37 NIN to an Abyssea party to ungimp it to 45, right? Time goes by and I lose myself in unlocking boxes... soon enough, I'm level 42 and the party leader ducks out and changes himself to a 42 DNC and starts unlocking all my boxes for me. I asked him what was up and told him not to waste his keys and he tells me it's fine... "I've got about 400". Meanwhile I only have about 25 left and was about to make a run for more anyway. So I ask him if we can just work on them together and he says... "nah, just hang out and leech, I got this".
That's exactly what I did. I told him I was going to go AFK indefinately and that if he felt the need to boot me from the party to make room for someone of use... to do it.
At the time I only had about 20 Minutes left in Abyssea and no plans to play for the rest of the day... so who cares if I get kicked out of the zone, right?
I left the house and went and did errands for the next 5 or 6 hours. When I got back, expected to be roughly level 44 or 45... kicked into S. Gusta outside the maw with a little solo work ahead of me to ding 45 and be done with it. What I found was me sitting next to the martello... right where I was when I left earlier in the afternoon... level 72... with 420 minutes left before I get kicked.
In my absense... my party rocked the GD boat apparently. So now I have a severely gimped level 72 NIN that I feel compelled to bring to 90 just because... it's so damn close anyway.
I don't half-ass anything though, I like to be the best ______ I can be. That being the case... I want to get my skills up to where they should be and gear myself half-respectably in the meantime. I know I need that new set of pink gear (forgive me for not remembering the name of the set) that you can buy off vendors in Abyssea for some sum of curor/piece. Besides that, I invested in a few of the cheap pieces of dusk gear for haste they add as well as the lvl 72 feet... the Fuma... somethingsomething that give +3% haste as well.
My questions for you guys are.... where the hell am I expected to go at lvl 72 with gimped out skills (107katana / 95 evasion / LOLninjitsu)? I don't have DNC lvl past 12 at the moment... and THF is only at 25 right now. I really can only /WHM at the moment.
I tried going to Vollbow to do page 1 for Lizzies and Bunnies... but with my Ninjitsu all gimped, I can't land jack squat, with katana's gimped... even with Life belt and O Hat, I can't land more than 30% of my attacks... With sushi it's more like 50%. Evasion is going up slowly... as I get my ass handed to me every fight... but it's a pain. Any advice?
