I know regular spells take 1, -ga's wipe them all, but under what category would Ancient Magic fall under? I'm specifically asking because after I get NIN abit higher I'm contemplating soloing my Moldative Earring as RDM/NIN, but since he can't be silenced I want to find out how exactly Ancient Magic affects shadows.

Re: Policy on AM and Shadows?
AM only takes one shadow. -ga III will still wipe your shadows and push some major pain through though.

Re: Policy on AM and Shadows?
Utsusemi Shadows can absorb AM spells. 1 Shadow will be absorbed. From the moment you see him start to cast an AM spell, you have plenty of time to recast Utsusemi: Ichi if your timer is ready. Mysticmaker isn't a bad fight, just at your level you have the other Goblins and Cockatrice to worry about, that would be the biggest concern.

Re: Policy on AM and Shadows?
Ancient Magic tier 1 is always single-target and will always be absorbed by Utsusemi.
Watch out, however, for the occasional HNM who can cast Tier II Ancient Magic, like Jailers in sea. Ancient II's bypass shadows altogether, and will hit you through Utsusemi.
