when i lvled War to 37 i saved everything. When i capped on MH spaces i started selling on AH and also bazzar in bastok when i slept at nite. when i started Nin i had about 1.5 mil. I've soloed 1-15 so far. 10-15 on Bubbling Bernie and using the misc mobs inbetween bastok and south gustburg as filler but main EXP was on BB. Now I have about 2.2mil and going to start farming so i can pre buy all my Ninjitsu: NI all Ichi spells I already quested in Norg. Now its just a matter of maybe lvling the needed crafts to make all my tools...also a lil exploit i would buy the ele wheel tools 99x12 and make toolbags and sell them on AH big money maker...but now that prices are dropping it might not be so much more now... but its worked for me so far.

If you just want to get NIN to 37 sub WHM or RDM to reduce downtime, specially at lvl 30 RDM becomes a great solo sub.

Just mass murder EP and DC and you'll lvl up fast, if you have to heal yourself while you are fighting then you are fighting stuff you shouldn't, Cures should only be used to cut downtime between fights while soloing.

At lvl 30 just get a Nikkariaoe, with Aquaveil and Fast Cast from RDM sub you'll never get interrupted.

        It's major fun

But you'll burn a considerable amount of gil, specially if you use Hojo and others to make fights easier. Although prices are dropping now so you might not waste too much gil on tools after all.

A stack of toolbags (shihei) should be enough to get you to 37 at least. Good luck.

          ffxi.somepage.com is your friend.

A word of advice. Beastmen's pets. They con higher than how hard they are. Low HP but still the same XP. There are pets in all level ranges. You can use this to your advantage.

Goblins and Gigas and possibly Tonberry summons.

Also, I would suggest pre 50, using any sub you think works best, but after 50. /war is a great sub. Having a mage sub is great for fights that are a 1 time thing. Over a long period of time, that meager mp pool becomes more of a drag than it does help. The power of nin is to deal good damage and not take dmg, however the longer the fight the more chances you are to get hurt. Taking the mob down faster is the best way to limit those chances. To reduce downtime, you can always find some mule somewhere that is selling au laits for real cheap. Or if you can craft, just stock up!

            To OP:

Did you ever solo for exp, after level 30 using any jobs?

Sometimes I solo melee jobs (post level 30) when the job is close to next level, or I want to skill up. I guess I may be able to give you some of my reference or experience.~

For NIN, I had solo at level 26 for 1.5k experience points in Qufim Island for several purpose:
            1. Kill some while looking for party. I had my LFG flag up while solo.
            2. Practicing timing on Utsusemi: Ichi.
            3. Skill up, parrying, throwing...

            *Note*
It was before sushi was introduced in the game (before range attack adjustment, no NPC fellow, no exp rings).

I was fighting those worms and carbs. They can range from DC to low T.

            Tips:
            1. Always have NIN's 2 hr ready during solo session. Save it for those "oh sh*t" moment.
            2. Avoid mobs that has AoE moves that could remove all shadows. From my experience, those worm does not cast stone-aga at blank point range (at least it never happen on me). Carb's AoE STR down move does not remove shadow.
            3. Evasion+ works very well. Since my NIN did not solo all the way, most of my skills (ninjitsu, katana, evasion...) were capped. I was using Jack-o-Lantern as food.
            4. Debuff the mob. Blind, Slow and Blade: Retsu make Utsusemi: Ichi simple for recast during battle.

That is about it. Downtime or staying alive was not really the main issue. It was the amount of time to kill the mob sux... it took a while to KO those carbs.

At level 27 I solo Wasp in ouside Lower Jenuo, at 31 I solo mandies outside Kazham (DC to Even Match). And last time I solo leeches at level 45 in Qufim Island (Easy Prey to DC). That was it for my NIN.

soloing BB was fun when i got Blade: Retsu. The Para effect really kicks in with your TP ranging around 150-230.

Shurikens = Mobs die fast. When I soloed, this was making my fights insanely fast. Critical for sometimes the same or even more than my WS damage, but you don't need TP to use it! Crazy...

Of course, I blew almost 100K for that one hour.

I soloed a lot of the 60's on lesser colibri and then orderly imps, which you can chain pretty well. It was nice but as others said quite expensive. I used whm sub a lot, sometimes /war if the mobs were only 1-2 levels above. Although it was nice for a change of pace, it's really more fun imo to exp in a party.

Some days, however. Oh my, some days *shakes head* There are exactly those days that when soloing is an option, tends to make it all better.

                      Re: Nin Solo Guide...

I solo all the way, and currently at lvl 44 =P. I use Nin/whm and Nin/rdm, by the way, Nin/rdm is preferrably for en-spells and fast cast trails. I syn juice on site to facilitate mp regen as /mage job is for curing, protect and shell purpose. I go solo simply because of my RL commitments which cant afford for extended online time for partying, xp party is still the way to go.

My solo trail so far is as outline in the following map:

                      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...vlingguide.jpg

Whm after lvl 28 will have stoneskin, so I will shift back to /whm when nin is 56 and will of course switch back to Rdm when rdm has it. Nin/rdm is the way to go afterwards ^^)b.

Experience per hour is about 1k to 1.5k (with xp ring effect on) at lvl 44, so you can estimate the time for you to get to lvl 75 by the following link:

                      http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Experience_points

The advantage is you starting killing upon log-in and can logout at any time to attend to RL needs and hence minimize wife aggro and stuff XD.

For further on, crabs (lvl 37-40) outside Norg and then Gigantobugards (lvl 40-43, especially these, as u will have the defense down katanas on and they are so sloooooow) are good if you would like to continue after my route map ^^)b.

Crabs wont recover your nin tools cost, so you will farm gils for it. Good luck.

Sadly the only way you can make any money on tool bags is if you can teir2 or 3 them otherwise you break even or just lose gil. i used to make my own powders cause it was cheaper an easier for me to farm the materials. Now i just buy a toolbag here an there, an manage to have a stack of the bags for buffs an blinks.

Go fight mobs in highlands, LTP. That should get you to 18-20 easily. Then there is alwasy the beastmen strong holds you could try like giddeus, or plabrough mines. all easy travels with decent drops. an shouldnt be too hard.

Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

Fire crystals from orcs will be more than recover the cost of ninja tools. Early lvls 1-25 are so fast that they are comparable to partying. Yet, this game is designed not for solo, so there is some uphill to walk on the solo trail XD.

Crabs doesnt have good drops, except that it does drop water crystal which is handy for syn juice =D.

Should be pretty fast once you get Blade: Jin since you can put out sick damage on a mob that isn't IT for you (Since you are soloing, you won't need to fight an IT ...)
