  • TaruNin Equip (End Game)

    ***Updated aug 23 2006***
Also will be using NIN/DRK from now on most problably

Well I hit 75 over the weekend, so i put on some new gear etc

About a year ago I guided many Tarutaru Paladin's to show them Taru Paladins can achieve great utility end game, and hit high number, after finally getting unlazy, and preparing my ninja, I am releasing my Ninja version.

    My HNM Setup(almost done):
    Main: Terra Staff +4 VIT
Head: Walahara hatthingie +30hp/mp +5% haste
    Body: Arhat's Gi +1:Def: 39 Enmity: 4 Physical Damage Taken: -9%
    neck: Harmonia's Torque: Def: 7 STR: 2 VIT: -5 Enmity: 3 /Ninjutsu Torque
hands: Dusk Hands 3% haste 20 hp
    legs:Yasha Hakama: Def: 31 HP: 25 INT: 2 Enmity: 2 Spell interruption rate down: 2% (HQ can i have it ;
    feet:fuhma ante thingie 3% jaste
    back:Gigant Mantle: Def: 4 HP: 80
    waist:Steppe Sash: Def: 5 HP: 60 VIT: 4 MND: -4
    ammo: Fenrir's Stone: 30HP day 10eva night
    ring1:Bomb Queen Ring/HP: 75 Vs. Fire: -75 Jelly ring: -5%dmg +5% mgk/mermans/Mermaids
    ring2:Sattva Ring: HP: 30 VIT: 5 AGI: 5 Enmity: 3 /mermans
    Ear1:Morukaka Earring: HP: 35 /mermans
    Ear2: eris

On PLD most gods got pretty easy to tank, limbus bosses are easy as well, grand wyrms were a bit tougher since I was mostly back up for jimmy/timmy, but confidence on pld was easy, now for nin.
    Also difficulty rating 1-5 1=easy 10=hard
    *experience on NIN*

Olla: Much Easier on PLD I find, Olla Mysterious light was extremely annoying. But for the mages point of view, its a lot easier on MP. I had no haste gear yet as it was at 74. I will post with haste next ones. Just keep a bit of DMG down gear, and hold hate, because your worst problem is if it kills your mage and you only have 1-2 healer.
    Rating: 2

Zipicana: This guy was *MUCH* Easier on pld, since he breaks shadows with his aoe move. But neverless easy enough.
    Rating:1

    Despot: Lol
    Rating: 1

Genbu: This guy is seriously easier than Olla & Zipicana. A LOT more easier than on PLD. Once again fought him @ 74, has no haste gear. The times I did get hit, I was missing about 2-5seconds off shadows recast, now that I am 75 with more 11% more haste, (which cuts NI to 40sec, instead of 45) I think I will have no problem whatsoever without taking dmg other than Poisonga 3.

I was kind of worried as I never tanked a god as ninja, and was thinking of kiting, but solo straight tank is like tanking a crab with magic. I noticed I parried *a lot* versus him. but I also noticed he has a invisible counter that people have been talking about, and its rather very annoying. the parry outweights the counter so I still engage, but a trick I HIGHLY recommend, is look at your character and if you see a red splash suddenly like blood, it means you lost a shadow due to counter.
No brd used since he dispels it.

Anyways, if you wipe to him, i highly suggest you work on your skills you could hold him all day with a rdm/drk + nin/war

    Rating: 1

Gration: Killinghim this thursday, he's easy to duo on rdm/nin so im not really worried.

I am eager awaiting your results and findings. I dont have much time for end game these days so hearing from you what equips work best and what styles of tanking would be some great information for me.

It's hard to just say "XXX is easy to tank." It depends on what else is going on. Like for Zipanca, if you have several BLM nuking him, he's like an exp mob. On the other hand if you have 3 DD's for damage and a smn for support, he can be quite a challenge.

Similarly, taking Genbu down with an LS that does Wyrms is going to be a joke no matter what. Perhaps it would be more informative if you rated how easy or effective tanking something as nin was vs. tanking it as a pld.

        Re: TaruNin Equip (End Game)

On difficulty level, I might be semi biased, as I have been personally killing them for very long time. that is true. But I also figure people that are level 75 ninja should have somewhat experience of blink tanking.

Also, there are a couple of veteran people in my ls, but a majority is people I am training on the basic, as there are many new people to the sky scene. I emphasize on working in small groups.

On most triggers I function as little as 4 members to 12. We have 1 blm75, which is my mule that i just bring to sky to hold triggers in excess, I also occaisonally nuke with him, and always keep him on stun duty if i see a ga that is not being stunned.

Most people who attend these have fought these gods for the first time, and seen them for the first time. So far I am lucky to have a skilled support group, which makes it much easier.

To be quite honest, many triggers are actually easier in smaller groups. Zipicana is actually a lot harder in a alliance than in a 5-6 man pt. Aoe shadow stripping TP Spam>=mages cure more and might freak out and do a strong cure->more chance it aoe's onto the mage.

Anyway, ill try to make my descriptions more informational, your quite right minaku

sorry but only thing i caught was ....

          75 blm mule?! @_@

          goodness...

i see that your build is a mix of haste, dmg reduction and enmity.
what do you think of evasion build nins with haste gear and mambos?

            Re: TaruNin Equip (End Game)

Ideally I would like double mambo&double march, double march is more important to me at the moment. And i only have 1 brd which is my girlfriend and she hates coming on brd

I have evasion torque, S.h +1 and the works. but I consider enimity a priority over evasion. I dont have much trouble keeping shadows up honestly, with the proper haste equip and marches, and haste spell, your recast is so small, that when your shadows are down you can have someone simply stun it. Its more of a keep everyone else alive thing for me. I am still looking to recruit another brd in my ls, but career brds are not the easiest thing to find.
