    Re: Thowing sweet spot?

How do you jump from "if you want to be a cut above, you do this" to "by that logic everyone should do this and spend millions and millions of gil"? It's not the same thing at all. As I said twice now, NIN will get invited for doing the "standard" routine. If they would like to increase their performance at a considerable gil cost, they can, but it's not required in any way. However, I would. But everyone else is not me, and vice versa.

It's not really that difficult a concept. But apparently "average" rubs people the wrong way.

I'm just going off of "you shouldn't cut corners." Paraphrased, not quoted. And oh, I agree. A nin with only utsusemi will get invotes. I've had so many terrible parties with nins that only cast blink or if I'm lucky, Hyoton: Ni, and didn't even know what I was talking about when I said "debuff." On the other hand, I also agree that you should strive to play your job to the best and use everything at your disposal, but when you're looking at millions of gil of consumables per party, I think it's ok to slip on that ideal a bit.

Well, that's why it was mere opinion. Everyone has a different idea of what an acceptable Cost to Benefit ratio is for them.

Oh, but ... for semantics, it's my experience that the "average" ninja is terrible. Probably you meant it as being at a median/acceptable level of effectiveness, but in the parties I've been in, "good" for a ninja is waaay to the side of the bell curve.

Everyone has a different idea of what "average" is too. For me, mere utsusemi usage falls below average. And Utususemi+Elemental Ninjitus falls squarely in the midddle of it. And then throwing and/or subbing BLM with a phalanx of Elemental Staves would end up on the "good to exceptional" side.

i hardly threw in my 75 lvls.
                not worth it imo.
if you dont throw, it doesnt break you as a nin.
theres a lot of other things you should be worrying about then throwing.

your ni-ichi change over is something a lot of nins cant do very well.
if you dont use shurikens, you arent missing out. i promise.

i got myself a stack of Fuma Shuriken for Genbu once (2,5mil i paid i think).
My DMg output was crazy but i cant afford to throw 2,5mil around very often.

throwing wouldnt be so looked down upon when there were Drain Shuriken
