Seems to me that it's within melee range.

I remember reading it was anywhere under 4', right next to the mob.

        Re: Thowing sweet spot?

Not that it matters too much since and ninja is pretty much always going to be right next to the mob.
On ITs my ranged accuracy was horrid with shuriken at point blank range. I had capped skill and Federation Tekko, but it still seemed to me that my miss rate was near 50%. Of course, that's not a parsed number and my perception may have been completely off, but I felt like I was missing a whole lot.

You're also trying that against ITs, I imagine without a full RACC setup, or /RNG.

Alright... I'm currently leveling NIN solo to 20/25 where I will pick up partying, and I just wanted to know. It's at 14 now, and my throwing skill at a measly 4(thats where my ninjitsu is to XD) so thanks!

It means that if you want to be a cut above the average run-of-the-mill NIN, you should really keep your throwing up to date.

You're a 51 RDM, no? That's certainly high enough to farm. And you could also mine, or continue to work on your fishing. Fishing is very steady money even if it's not really fast money.

I just believe in doing the best you can at every job. But I know that not everyone plays like me. That doesn't mean I'll stop advising them to try and do better when they can though.^^

                            Re: Thowing sweet spot?

Crafting isn't job dependent. You can do a craft as any job equally well. If you mean farming...that's a different story. Some jobs are better farmers than others, but quite frankly if you're just killing a lot of low level mobs for drops, it doesn't really matter what job you are (but try not to be WHM or BRD).

Anyway, we're getting wildly off-topic (NIN throwing range), so if you have any other questions on farming/crafting/making gil in general, check out the Search function at the top of the page.

                              O.O

Your job has absolutely nothing to do with your crafting skills. That would suck so hard if it did.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.
