  • Shadow counter?

I was wondering if anyone ever came across or knows of a mod that counts your shadows for you and displays them. I know for most of you its probably not that hard to keep track of how many shadows are gone, but for me with the TP burn pt's and the nonstop pulling there is just too much stuff going on and i lose track sometimes(wont go into my life story but there is a reason why i cant concentrate lol). Sometimes i even forget what utsu i cast lol (yah i know I'm a dum dum). It wont make or break my tanking abilities, but it would help me out a lot. Thanks in advance for any info :D

I think such a program exists, but because of our forum policy against 3rd party programs that are against FFXI's terms of service, it would be unwise for someone to link you to it.

Oh hrm, i figured it'd be just as innocent a program as the windower. All it is really doing is counting stuff lol. But i guess you are right.

I think it is a plugin for windower, but, though largely harmless on its own, windower itself is still a 3rd party program and is verboten to link here.

It is not a windower plugin, and it is highly unreliable.

I heard of a shadow tracker that worked fairly well once, but the only way to get it is using programs which there is no argument over the 'okness' of, as there is with windower.

In short, you're better off just trying your best. Chat filters help too.

Yeah, it's not a windower plugin. It's a JP program if I'm not mistaken, but some folks have been trying desperately to make an NA version or something. But as Feba said, it's not terribly reliable.

Heck, I don't know enough about this stuff to really say much. Regardless, as fast and furious as those TP burn parties are, you're better off finding a way to manually count the shadows. You don't want to become reliant on a tool to do that anyway, as said tool may not always be available.

I say the same thing to BRD and RNG who rely on the distance plugin for Windower.
