Where do you get your funds? This job can be very expensive, as I've been noticing recently. I've never been great at farming, but can solo a BCNM20 (shooting fish) using the summoner job.

I'd like to be able to do something as a ninja.

You can cut costs by questing a good amount of the scrolls.
    BCNM utsusemi: ni.
Buying powders for elemental ninjutsu in Norg.

The rest is just typical upkeep. With any job you'll need to be making money to buy new equipment and such. If you dont like farming, pick up a craft. Camp nm's for rare items.

Like the old proverbs goes, there's no free lunch. There isnt really some secret way nin keep up with the costs, it just boils down to make gil like anyone else. Sorry if that doesnt really help.

Personally, I used to camp nm's a bit and bcnm here and there. Scoring a few big items lets me have enough gil to hold me over for a couple levels, then I'm back at it again.

If you are only taking nin to 37, costs shouldnt be too harsh. You'll only be spending on shihei mainly. elemental ichi ninjutsu arent worth the trouble of casting. ichi enfeebles might be worth it but not necessary by any means if youre only going to 37.

Cooking is what funds my ninja. Any craft is a decent money maker, some more than others. The key is persistance, really. I'm not decked out in a scorpion harness or anything, but I'm decently equipped.

If you don't have a consistent income yet, ninja's probably not the best of choices to play. Though for the record, switching to ninja from monk made a world of difference with my outlook on the game... I can never go back to playing monk again. Ninja's a lot of fun.

BCNM is a great way to make money. The BC40 Under Observations is perfect for Ninja, although horrid drop rates (just depends). Like another said, craft craft craft. Play around with some of them and see which you like better. Play the market and find a niche, you can only get more money from that point on. Good luck.

I craft for my gil. Sometimes I get bored and farm beehive chips in Giddus while keeping an eye out for NM's. If you bring some sickles with you, harvest while you are there as well.

this falls into general money making method I guess
I started as farmers. Selling drops
Then I picked up fishining. Made money almost exclusively from fish.
Then I picked up cooking. tripple my income by cooking my fish.
Now I'm picking up smithing ^^ but my main income to support myself is still from fishing+cooking.
