Sneak Pulling AF3 Body Doesn't Work Anymore...

For those of you who are interested in trying to solo your AF3 fight with a sneak pop and pull; I think they fixed it to where you can't sneak pop it anymore. There was a post on Alla regarding this and people just said they were doing it wrong. Well, I went last night as a 65 NIN with a 75 WHM buddy of mine and he sneaked me, and I examined the ??? and one of the 3 popped claimed and sneak wore immediately even without me doing ANYTHING to cancel it. I just examined the ??? and they started casting on me immediately.


We zoned into the Den of Rancor, and came back out to claim the MNK who we duo'ed until the others de-popped and I got my key item. Still not that hard even without the sneak pop. Just wait until night, put on your AF boots, pop them, run to Den of Rancor zone, come back out and claim one and whack on it until it dies.


I hope this helps others to avoid getting killed.

If you like pop over to the alla boards for Ninja (I know should not say that, but they got a thread over there that talks about it), they say it still works. ><

Yeah, this is why I posted it here. I have posted in the thread over there on the topic as well. I would prefer to never have to go there again. I would like for some good discussions to start going on here. Just thought I would try to get the ball rolling.

I think it can still be done. I was unable to do it on my RNG when I went to fight, but that is not to say a BRD or SMN could not do it. I just found it easier to take them all on at once.

That's not the point I am trying to state. People claim you can pop the mobs, then run back and pull one individually. As soon as the 3 mobs pop now, they attack, with sneak on. You don't even get the chance to try and pull one alone...


People have said you can pop the mobs with sneak on and they won't attack. You can then pull the BRD from distance with a spell and fight him solo. This is the part I am saying doesn't work anymore. As soon as you pop them, they start beating on you now. Hope that clarifies.

That sounds like what should be happening now. If I recall a few updates ago they made the forced spawn mobs automatically agro you regardless of sneak or invis. Something that was done to prevent certain bot issues that carried over to those as well. I'll have to look at the updates again, but I remember something vaiguely to that.

btw is this the 3rd time i read this thread or is it really spread over various forums because its all so important ...
i mean common ... everyone should be able to make enaugh friends on this game to get a PT together anyways ...
if you are looking for a thrilling solo fight you may try to solo birds in lufaise meadows

Well, we popped the Black Halo NM today with Sneak on, and it didn't aggro.

So I guess you must be doing something wrong?

the only poppable nm fight that detects sound that was updated to have mob detect through sneak was the one in valkrum dunes for some fishing-related quest

Well, when you research your quest and every post says "You can solo this quest easily at level 58." Yeah it does matter. Because I would prefer to know ahead of time that THREE angry NM's are gonna want to pound on me as soon as I touch the ??? with no easy escape other than running to the Den of Rancor zone.

How did you run to the Den of Rancor zone, exactly? I mean, Ifrit's Caludron is like literally two steps away. >.>;

The zone into the den where these NMs are popped is much closer than ifrits. And something has been changed when popping these 3 NMs. Recently I went to help a friend with this, we tried it 3 times. Everytime all 3 of them instantly made a beeline for my NIN buddy even though he was sneaked when he examined the ??? point. It's not a terribly big deal with the zone nearby, but it's certainly unexpected considering so many posts say you can sneak pull one of them. If you weren't expecting it to happen, you might think you just had one coming while the other 2 stand back to buff, and then all 3 ganged on you without a chance to make it to the zone.

Other thing you have to realize is this game is constantly changing. Most of the old threads will say DRG's 2hr is to call a wyvern. That statement isn't true anymore, just got to remember the info on MMORPGs all are dated. The older the date the less likely it may still be that way.

But you still have people to this day claiming it can be done when it can't. And yes, you have no clue where to pop these 3 NM's if you think Ifrit's is closer than The Den of Rancor...
