  • Main vs Sub...

    I have a question. I've asked a couple of Ninja's in game and have gotten different responces, so I thought I'd ask here...

    Is there any real difference which Katana should be main and which should be as sub? By this, I mean... the delay of a particular Katana? Does it really matter if a delay on a katana should be on the MAIN equip or Sub equip?

    I hope my question is understandable. Thanks in advance.

    Delay does not matter at all, how dual wield works is by adding up weapon 1's delay with weapon 2's, then x 0.9 I think.

    What you should keep in mind is, WS damage is calculated from your mainhand weapon's DMG. So for example, if you have a Nodachi and a Nodachi+1, the +1 should definately go into mainhand. But you might already know this. :p

      Well, yeah, I figured the +1 of the same kind would go in Main hand. People have said though that if you put the longer/higher delay weapon on the Main hand, you would attack faster. So you're saying it doesn't matter where the longer/higher delay goes?

        Yep, doesn't matter. In the end, both weapon's delay would be added up for the formula in the same way, and with the same numbers. :p hope it helped.

            This rule only applies to single-strike weapon skills. Both mainhand and offhand damage are considered in weapon skills such as Blade: Jin, because of the fact that your formula also brings into consideration your offhand weapon.

            Try doing a Jin with nothing in your offhand, it'll return 10% if you don't get a Double Attack, and you don't miss any strikes. If you have both katana eqipped, it will return 11%.

              most of the time the Katana with lower delay also has lower dmg so i would go with the High DMG katana in main hand and with the low delay katana in off hand

              CoP=Complete RoZ=Complete ToAU=Mission 8

                Actually, you get 1 hit in for your main hand, 1 hit in for your sub hand, then the rest of the hits you get in are from your main hand, or so I've noticed. So for a 5 hit WS like DE, you get 5 hits with main hand, and 1 hit with offhand, getting 6 hits total. A 1 hit WS would get 1 hit from main and 1 hit from sub making it a 2 hit WS. Also, both the main and offhand first hit give back normal TP.

                Like has been stated, the dmg of the main weapon hold more weight than the dmg of the offhand, however the delay of the mainhand holds the same weight as the delay of the offhand.

                  That's pretty much what I mean. I was comparing it to the formula for Rampage (Which I'm more aquainted with.)

                  Otherwise a Warrior offhanding a Joyeuse would be retarded.

                  I was just mentioning that it in fact does have something to do with it.
