    I kinda like our 2 hour, but from what I read...


    Omni's Invisible attack thing made me think of this...


    A 2 hour that only if mob is not focused on us (SE dont like us tanking) we can go Stealth making us deal some sort of special attacks for a duration (I do not want Crits << War 2hr >> or Sneak Attacks) something original. then make it where we cannot gain hate during the duration also our Stealth wont be taken from attacks, but if we get hate via pt dead only one left or other means...

    I think this would fit the Ninja well, could probably use touch ups but hey, we are just "kicking the can" right?

      I think the nin 2hr should summon a mountain yeti that can shoot lasers out of it's eyes, fire out of it's mouth, and makes llama noises to attack the mob.

        I think nin should have a minimal evasion rate by default and activating the 2H would remove that penalty for two hours. Death would also remove the 2H buff. Having to take a break every time you die seems like a good trade off for being able to mitigate far more damage than pld while at the same time dealing a lot more damage.

        As much as I'm looking forward to leveling nin, I can't imagine SE designed the job to be as overpowered as it currently is. You have tank, DD and healer all packed into one character (healer because you take no damage and thus need no healing) and he can even assume every role somewhat effectively at the same time depending on his equipment.

            I think a "Mighty Strikes", but for throwing would be cool. But I haven't played NIN, so I'm not sure if any suitable throwing weapons are available to make that a good 2hr.

              Since we're just kicking the can...

              From the player's side:

              Using the 2-hour will instantly kill whatever mob currently has hate with no experience or drops gained. The 2-hour also does a fire based AoE effect that is caculated based on the player's HP. Does not work on NM mobs, mission or quest based bosses.

              Example:
              JoJo the Monkey Ninja is tanking for his experience party and it's going bad. To save his party he uses his 2-hour and blows himself up. This instantly kills the mob, but no experience is gained, nor is anything dropped off the mob. However, he did save the party.

              A couple of hours later, JoJo is fighting the Dark Lord for mission 5-2 and blows himself up. The Dark Lord is not instantly killed and only takes AoE damage from the ninja 2-hour.

              From the mob's side:

              The NM uses it's 2 hour and blows itself up. A person is randomly selected out of the NMs "grudge" list (anybody with hate against the mob) and is instantly killed. However, a player can be "out of range" of the 2-hour and have it result in a miss. Anybody within AoE range will take AoE fire damage.

              Edit: Forgot to add that this KO's the ninja afterwards... like it is now.

                My ideas for a better nin 2hr:

                1. Keep Mijin Gakure but does dmg = 2x current HP.

                2. Ninja 'dissapears' with a combined effect of hide, sneak, and invis. Also gains movement speed equal to flee. Duration = 1 minute.

                  Well for the sake of constructive criticism, Maybe a supplemental ja that goes with your two hour? Maybe adds some of that, but makes the nin lose 25% xp? I'd trade some xp for that, plus you could still determine whether to do the regular Gakure?

                    like someone said before, we need sneak.

                    i dont get the being invisible part but stomping around making sounds... how sneaky is that.

                    id give up mijin for a 2hr- super stealth ability that gives you an instant cast stealth that makes you totally undetectable by anything. so sight, sound, true sight, odor, magic, and low hp will not detect you. you get this indefinitely until you do anything that normally breaks sneak/invis. sorta like a hide on steroids.

                        Ninjas should all be stealth, but as was said before, their role as a tank in this game destroys that image. However, I think Nin should still look like the perfect professional in any and everything they do. When I imagined a ninja before FFXI, they would flip and throw shurikens(sp?) with deadly accuracy and never really mess up at all.......therefore, the 2hr I'd imagine would be a perfect acc/Racc and increased Ninjitsu skill for 1min.

                        While this 2hr was active, they wouldn't miss any melee or ranged attacks and their elemental ninjitsu would deal more damage. Perhaps recieve a slight haste as well to top it off...sayyyy 10~15%? Anyway, that'd be sweetness, heh

                          Thf has all jobs beat with natural stealth and rng unfortunately >.>, wow didn't know my thread kept up this long

                            Wouldn't that assassination trait be more suited to a THF? Here's a thought ... give THF that one-shot ability (Cold Blood) which will be resisted by HNMs, etc. (add in your exceptions list to keep the ability from being abused) and give NIN perfect dodge.

                              sounds like a good trade.

                              i dont know if it would be a won shot ability since that seems a bit hmm over powered and gimped. over powered would be like you can 1 shot some lv75 mob at lv 50 or something...? unless it has a chance to miss... but if you stack with sneak attack.... and gimped bc on nm/hnm it would useless... maybe something simliar to what aeni is saying but just adds extra damage to sneak attack, a good decent amount, or is like the tonberries throat slash w/ some sort of reset effect...

                              ok its friday afternoon and im starting to ramble... woo weekend! have a good one everybody!

                                Maybe have a modification to the one-shot so the description would read:

                                "Calculating and pre-meditative (translation: requires sneak attack/trick attack timer to be ready), the thief strikes at the most opportune time to render his/her opponent immobile."

                                In other words, probably give a huge damage boost (150% minimum increase over normal SATA damage and this can stack with WS as well) while immobilizing the enemy for 10seconds (Like a 10second stun) The stun duration and damage modifier can be modified through AGI or other stat boosts or w/e you want, but rather than instantly killing something (which maybe a cheese) you actually put some usefulness in certain situations, like you pointed out, ENM/BC/Boss fights.
