  • Double MB

    Well I was thinking that because our Ni spells are fast that we might be able to double MB on a skillchain. I found out we could and I was very surprised. I never knew we could do it so I just decided to post a screenshot of it.

    It was after their 2nd skillchain on the mob. Hence the double skillchain phrase.

    dual MB as a blm is cool, thundaga3 at the right time then thunder1, people will wow at you, tho the damage you do with the second spell is nothing special lol, however at the cost of mp it's actually good.

    anyway, cool! i allways thought a nin should try to MB, since MB = lil extra hate, i think.

      yup, double mb is great at the lvl you are at right now. ni spells pack a nice punch in the 40s and 50s. then it just drops off and does more of a tickle than anything else usually.

        Is SE planning on adding a 3rd Tier of the Ninja Elemental Wheel? Like at 60 maybe?

          they haven't said abnything about adding a third tier of spells for ninja. i think they believe that would make ninja too overpowered

            how So? I think about the only thing that could make Ninja over powered would be the 3Tier Utsusemi spell that some mobs have. If anything it would just give them a little bit more edge to keep hate (3rd tier elementals). Or atleast give them a Mini Provoke Spell similar to Paladins Flash.

                it was a double SC. so getting off a dbl MB on that isnt hard at all. by the 3rd fight you can have it timed perfectly to do it every time. its alot harder to do it on 1 SC, bursting back to back.

                Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

                  Any decent ninja will burst two times off of distortion, or fragmentation, or light and dark. For example, on distortion MB Hyoton Ni, and then Suiton Ni.

                    a nin can already do so much with waht its got. dmg and tank. enfeeble and nuke. you give a 3rd tier of spells and all the pld, war, blm, drg, drk, etc etc will be crying for a nerf stick. again.

                    double mb off 1 renkei isnt to particularly difficult. the only thing is not casting the first mb too early/late else your 2nd one wont land as a mb either.

                      I kinda have to agree...with a 35% reduction in delay from Dual Weild alone at 65, plus another 5% at 72 from Suppanomimi, you're already gaining TP disproportionately fast compared to other melees, all artifical TP enhancements (Jumps, Meditates, Store TP, Multi-hit weapons) aside. Throw in Haste (which most NINs will get from their mages if they're tanking, if I'm not mistaken) and Byakko's Haidate, and you can expect 100 TP every 37 seconds of nonstop meleeing if you had 100% accuracy. Factor in Double Attacks and assume 85% accuracy and you can still expect 100 TP every 38 seconds or so. Of course, casting detracts from that, but that's still insane...plus NINs have strong enfeebles, and can do damage while tanking...NIN has a lot going for it, and a stronger elemental wheel they can do for direct damage would have every DD job (and PLD) revolting. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate NIN, but it's definetely a powerful job.

                        i think it would be nicer if ni elementals didnt lose their punch after 60 rather than giving nin another line of ninjutsu. im not calling for an inc. in elemental dmg at 60+ but a consistent range. at 45 i would be able to drop 90-100 dmg off an ni elemental unresisted. 40~ resisted and 120~ on a mb. at 75, its a sad 10-20 dmg, single digit resisted and maybe 40-50 on a mb. i'd rather not waste the gil and take that casting time to build tp.

                          I agree with this statement but you gotta look at nins af at nightime their enmity is reduced this to me hints what se wanted nin to be the sneaky guy not neccesarily a blink tank i dont think they were expecting that honestly like wise gear for rdm they are still trying to infer with the right sub rdms can do it all imho

                          but as far as mb goes nin can nuke pretty well40+ you dont realize that ur ni spells do70-140 or so? nice to mb and push it farther heck throw in an ice staff or the proper element and see what happens then switch back with a macro

                            Ninja Was never ment to be a tank when SE designed it. The original Ninja in FF1(One) was just a THF who could cast Black Magic. Which is what SE was basically doing with it before some people realized that "Hey, Watch this I can tank without taking damage!"

                            Back before then you only saw THF, BLM and sometimes SAM as subjobs for Ninja /War was rare, and even if it was there, it was never used to tank. It was like having another DRG in the party, It was nice, but ultimately people would pick something else.

                            Until Blink Tanking was thought up. Then the job got raped into being whored out only for blink tanking. Which makes it impossible for people who like trying new things to level it in a party. Try subjobing something other then War and put up you flag. You'll either not get invites, or you'll get invites and be expected to tank, and as soon as they realize, "hey he doesn't have /War" they kick you or tell you to go change.

                              yea, nin might or might not be intended to tank yadda yadda. thats a whole other discussion. the fact is:

                              nin is the best dmg negation tank. period.
                              nin does good dmg with attack gear. period.
                              nin debuffs are very strong. period.
                              people play nin this way. period.

                              unless they do something to ninja to take away its tanking ability. nin will always be used in this manner and to give it tier 3 spells will over power it greatly. unless everyone stops using nin to tank you cant give it tier 3 spells.

                              what piece of nin af is this? af, af2 and af+1 have no signs of -enmity. the only night time effects it does have are ones that greatly benefit ninja.
