Ninja 14-37

I'm currently lvl 14 Ninja, leveling in the Dunes. I currently have around 850k, 3 stacks of Shihei and Leaping Boots

My question to you experienced Ninjas is this. Is it quite expensive to level Ninja from lvl 14 (almost 15) to level 37? The Main reason I wish to raise my Ninja to 37 is to sub it for the class I really wish to level: THF.

I realize that my funds are somewhat great, but If i can I would like to avoid spending most/all of it on just getting Ninja to 37

Is it possible?

Also.. a friend was telling me that if I do not get the Slow, Paralyze and Blind Scrolls, that I will be worthless as a Ninja and won't be able to hold hate

Hmmm . . . 850k to go from 14-37. This is easily doable. If you go the cheap way and do not purchase lvl 25 armor like Fed Tekko/Fed Gi/Kingdom Trousers you can do it for extremely cheap. Although those 3 pieces of equipment are probably as neccessary as shihei if you want to do well.

The real costs are the scrolls. At these lower levels, there is not much for you to do to keep hate except attack and debuff. Yet, even then the lower debuffs take a LOOONG time to cast. I do agree from a completionist standpoint you would be extremely lacking without Kuryami and Jubaku. These tools tend to be relatively cheap. Hojo, however has expensive tools and you can often get away with not casting this. Especially early on when you have a redmage or whitemage that will most likely be casting slow anyway.

In the end 850k isnt a "huge" amount in todays ffxi economy, but at the very least it should get you your lvl25 armor (armor you can feasibly wear beyond 37) and tools from 14-37. In terms of hate build up, using Dorado Sushi or Sole Sushi will work wonders at lower levels.

should be sufficient funds.
imo, kurayami, hojo, and jubaku ichi arent all that great of spells. each takes over 4 seconds to complete casting, most of the time you'll get interupted that the amount of hits you take from trying to cast the stinking ninjutsu, you'll already lose the hate that you're trying to generate.

if you are the 2nd provoke in your party, (i suggest 2 tank pts to 37), throwing in kurayami and hojo when you are free from spell interuption would be a great help to your pt. if you are the only tank, i dont think it's all that much worth it.

Yes it will be expensive, but thats just the factors involved with Ninja, for such a great class its very expensive. Just spend as much money as you can on shihie or advanced gear and the parties will flow to you. you'll be lvl 37 with ninja in no time flat.

Well, it depends, do you have your Utsusemi Ni scroll? If you can BCNM then its cool, but I know on Ragnarok at least that Utsusemi: Ni is above 800k alone.

Definitely. Getting NIN to 37 is not very expensive at all.
37+ however (and especially 40+) is a different story

Some of the lower level Ninjitsu scrolls are ridiculously expensive. I looked up the price of Hojo: Ichi and was like "fuck that" and looked up the quest. It was pretty easy, so I'd just suggest question all the expensive scrolls and 850k should get you past 37 no problem. Just do BC40 for Utsunemi: Ni, that's what I plan on doing D:/
