frankly, i dont remember which update it was in particular. i was just responding to what carmn posted >> "if i remember right goblin rush used to like always take 3 shadows even before the update its just the message for shadows would never tell you how many back then"

i'm talkin about the update where they put in the number of shadows instead of just showing some default message every time you lost a shadow either it was 1 or 4

That was the Sep. 14th, 2004 update when they also made the change to how Utsusemi worked.

        Strip 1 utsusemi
Normal hit, 1 hit special, spell with 1 target

        Strip various number of utsusemi
multi-hit special abilities such as "Whirl of Rage" and "Goblin Rush", number loss measured against how many of the shadows avoided the attack.

        Strips all shadows of utsusemi
        Basically AoE spells

        Ignores shadows
Breath attacks, self-destruct attacks, and enfeebling spells

You know with the Ballista matches the NINs are going to really loose their advantages if the Blue Mages get a good range of Breath attacks they can use.

As if nin's aren't easy prey for rdm--sometimes whm, already.
