I get what you're saying about providing a "breather" for the main tank but I have never been in many parties where this has happened.

    I'm still not satisfied, though.
Nin/thf is bad..yet not bad. The problem doesn't lie in the job, it's the problem that most people that want to do this can't accept the reality of playing it effectively. Which is MONEY.

Pre 30, you don't even have SA.

Damage is so bad you're not really contributing anymore more then scatches on a monster.

If you're willing to start spending that money with tools, range, to make yourself a real DD, things might change.

We seriously had to kick a nin/thf at lvl 20 because, not only was he doing bad damage, but he couldn't get hate at all, almost killing the main Nin/war.

Gun? nope. shruiken? nope. SA? too low. Tools? nope.

You can play what you want, but the path isn't always what you like.

NIN/RNG can be an efficient DD with a lot of money. Shrukiens(sp?) and guns are high damage weapons but both cost a lot of money. Aslo NIN/BLM can be a DD and tank at the same time, spending money on tools more than ammo.

Ninjas and Thieves already have plenty of synergy, I really doubt S-E thought it'd be necessary to add more reasons to have both in a party, but who can tell? As things stand, outstanding ninjas can hold aggro without a thief or /THF30+ melee. Time will tell if the changes keep this a possibility.

Personally, I'm thinking S-E instituted this to increase the required skill levels on some HNM by complicating the hate dynamics (i.e. CoP wyrms).

I don't have any expereince in HNM related stuff, but from PTing alot I have noticed that most of the times the NINs in exp PTs aren't outstanding to the point where they don't need any SATA of any form on them. I think it's mainly due to the fact that most don't want to throw so much gil into the job.

I guess what I'm trying to say is for those average NINs, they'll be more inclined to look for a form of SATA so they can continue tanking, if that is what they want to do.

I do understand that nothing is certain until we see the effects first hand, and that all we are doing is speculating atm.

I've have no expereince in this, and I'm just talking from my own point of view. But I believe if S-E wanted to complicate/increase difficult on certain things they could just adjust the mobs as needed. A change to utsusemi like this would effect NINs (and everyone else who uses Utsusemi) in general and not just the HNM side of the game.

Oh and I'm not starting a flame war or anything, just a general disscussion ^^
