Utsusemi: Ni AH price...

So I got my ninja to 37 about a month ago, and rather then buying Ni right then for the 350k it was going for, I decided to wait until I could actually use it (ie when my RDM reaches 74, which it has) to purchase it. I go to check the price the other day, and it was 650k. Checked the price last night and it was 800k. Checked Erase out of curiousity and it is still around 500k.

Question is WHY is the price of Ni skyrocketed from 350k to 800k in like 3 weeks? Too many ninjas reaching 37 maybe? More rare drop in BCNM now? This sucks... I would feel like a frickin chump if I paid 800k for that. So if I wouldnt pay that price, why are others so willing? Gil doesnt grow in trees (except for IGE customers )

i dont think its just that item that has sky rocketed. the ah as a whole is just out of hand it seems.

i do notice that there are a lot more ninjas around now. either to lvl for sub or as mainjob. the usefulness of nin as a subjob goes across the board, regardless if you are melee or support. i do agree with you about feeling crappy if you had to shell out for that.

a lot more ppl playing nin these days...I can see why the most important scroll can sky rocket that high: everyone wants it but not everyone can go to BC.

About 3 weeks ago, i got my WHM to 32, and stalled it for erase. (Dont want to lvl whm without it, because it now fits under my RDM, where erase would be more of an essential.) It was ~400k.

Started farming/scavaging/selling to make my money. @350k, I check again.. it rose to 500k ; ;

Ok.. back to work.. more hours of farming synthesis materials (mushrooms, for my cooking)...

Check again in a few days... 600k!!

...Then some nutjob paid 900k!! O.O I almost shat myself!

It only got worse... 650k... 700k... 750k....

And what makes it worse, there was always a constant supply, so the price was just driven up!!

I finaly gave up, and stated working on my BLM again, since I recently aquired my Davoi Coffer Key, and got my Wizard's Coat. Pushed from 56 -> 60 in one long weekend, and burned the remainder of my cash on Flare.

Now, im just working on getting my feet back on the ground, and back to a stable (and hopefully steady) income again.

Utsusemi: Ni is 600k in my server
Erase is 500k.

Hopefully I can get them in my following BCNM drop I wont sell it I rather use it myself!

I have reasonable access to BCNM, but I shouldnt have to do that. Prices should not increase by that rate unless something drastic happens. It's a supply vs demand issue, but also its a too much f***ing gil out there and too much greed issue. The measures S-E took to "adjust" the economy's gil flow has either backfired, or is taking to long to see the effects.

Since the implementation of the higher AH fees, lower NPC buying prices, etc, we have seen prices go up, up, up... not down. Some figured it would just take time to see the effects, but I'm not seeing them. In fact its' getting worse, so what's to blame?

Sorry for the economy rant here, just ticked off at myself for not buying the scroll a month ago when I should have. I was hoping it would go down a bit, but the opposite happend to the extreme.

actually utes: ni back in the day all came from bcnm 40 in giddeus(mandy one ). but it seems S.E took that out of that bcnm battle, or made its drop rate rare. making it alot harder to come buy. we tried recently to get it there like i had mine. we went 0/6 on a bcnm that had a great drop rate on the scroll.... oddly we got erase, an phalanx more.

could be we had a crummy drop rate. but i dont know:confused:

Not sure about that... price has gone back down to 650K on my server (still too high for me) with 12 up for sale. I can see it going down further. I think part of the problem might have been just not many people doing the bcnm for this scroll, and prices went up. All of a sudden price is high, people want to cash in and do bcnm40 runs like crazy, price goes back down.

I will say this though... in the "Tails of Woe" BCNM 40 in Horlais peak against the rabbits (Beastmasters special) we get Erase far more often than Utsusemi Ni, which may indicate that Ni is a rare drop now.

Ya, I was worried about it because I am raising NIN SJ for my RDM. Fortunately a couple weeks before I needed it I got it as a drop in "Worms Turn" (BCNM40 Palborough).

I've heard you get a better drop rate with the BCNM40 worm instead from the BCNM 40 mandy... anyone tried both and have gotten better drops from "Worms Turn"?

i can remember prior to the patchs, getting 4 out of 6 to drop ni. we did 12 so far an havent seen any drop... maybe they did reverse the drops now, an we had terrible luck all 12 times...

Price down to 450-500k and falling. Nine scrolls for sale last I checked. Apparently my patience is paying off.... I could have bought one for just over 450k, but I decided to wait... hope that doesnt come back to bit me in the ass... watch, I'll log on tonight and it will be back up to 600k ...

Actually, I believe Utsu: Ni used to drop from Oztroja yags (back when it used to sell for ~5k).

The next time some LV75 tells you how easy you have it with lower exp requirements, keep that little tidbit in mind. =P
