  • Toreador's Cape Hidden Effect (I have data + proof)

    Tested the cape out today with a few friends. Granted I'm basing this data on 300+ hits from Easy Preys... the data is pretti clear.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Esteraza Lv 75 NIN/37WAR Fenrir Server
    NIN JSE Body, Hands, Legs, Feet. 2 Stun+1 Katanas.
    3 Merit's in Evasion, capped evasion skill.
    We used Sand Lizards which gave 6-8 XP to a group of 4 Lv 75s.
    Estimated lvl range is Lv 61-64.
    With Cape:
    -------------
    Evaded: 100 (56.5%)
    Taken: 72 (40.68%)
    Parried: 5
    Total Hits: 177
    Critical Hits: 45
    Without Cape:
    ----------------
    Evaded: 60 (35.5%)
    Taken: 103 (60.70%)
    Parry: 6
    Total Hits: 169
    Critical Hits: 7
    The latent effect is pretti obviously there . Anyways calculating the number of Critical Hits vs Normal Hits with the cape and without:
    62% of the hits taken with Cape on were Criticals
    6.8% of the hits taken without the Cape on were Criticals.
    I'm kinda thinking that the cape increases your critical hits taken x10. I think if you tested on a larger scale, the two numbers would probably even out a bit more, especially for the smaller sample that was taken.
      Good info...might want the 4 enmity still for emergency hate gain, but at the 15-20m price tag right now it isn't worth it. There's still bat cape (+5 evasion) and another new one with +7 evasion. Both good choices, and you won't have big monsters critically hitting you if your shadows go down for a sec.
        Such a shame, this cape would've been so sweet... it had so much potential...
          why not just make an equip macro for when shadows are down? seems like the best cape to me, shadows will be up more often than down. although its current price tag isnt worth it IMO.
            It could be critical hits on you +50% as I've heard around.
              I heard the same thing. Stupidly overpriced, unless you plan on carrying around an alternate overpriced cape to macro in for when shadows are down....
                Test it again.
                A Recent patch changed Toreadors Cape so every hit taken is a critical hit and not just a high chance. There is a rumour that using Tutelary will negate the hidden effect but take that with a heaping bowel of salt...
