          Ive asked this question before. And aparently it's almost un readable, as it is very old kanji. Or this is what im told. Ancient kanji.. something along those lines.

                It isn't Kanji at all, or even Chinese.

                It looks like, and is supposedly "Sanskrit", the ancient Hindu style of writing, which ancient Buddhism used also.

                You've probably seen this sign around in places..

                Look similar?

                This is "Om". (The supposed first sound in existence) In my family there are people who have lived in India for some time (My mother being one of them), and they studied some various forms of meditation yoga, and these sanskirt symbols were a major part of them.

                Here are more examples of Sanskrit.

                Within the teaching's of Ninjutsu, one of the things done as a disiplinary and focus gathering excersize were mundra hand poses and certain chants, its not unheard of for some of these chants to be the original words from the original Buddhism in India...which is the closest I can come to explaining Blade: Ku's symbols.

                I can't translate them. Sanskrit is odd, there's the regular language but there's also a collection of extremely old symbols like the Om sign up there to signify certain things. Try looking up a Sanskrit expert on google and send them a picture of these symbols and see if there's anything you can find. But for all we know maybe they're made up, but they definitely seem like Sanskrit to me.

                Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages in the world, its speculated that it may even be one of the first of the human languages. o.o In other words...its not easy to translate the symbol meanings.

                There is another possibility though, some older ways of writing Japanese and Chinese were written in a very Sanskrit like way (probably reflecting on the spread of Buddhism at the time).
                But really..I'm not sure.

                  I was screwing around with a great katana last night and did a tachi:enpi for 607, blade:ku doesn't even break mid 500's usually.
                  My blade jin record is mid 800s.
                  I still use Ku to interrupt casters and most of the time because it looks neat.

                    a friend of mine, whom is japanese told me, when i asked about ku, that it just means Blade: Nine.
                    odd, but thats what his friends and him always refer to it as.

                      Indeed, the actual word Ku itself means "Ninth", as in its the Ninth Technique.

                      It sounds strange, but its actually a very Japanese style name for a noteworthy technique.

                      Ku can also mean Void, which many tend to like but I personally think it means Ninth myself, its too convenient to not be true.

                      Its been a while but I think there was a thread quite some while back about the name meanings. But quick recap incase your curious.
                      Rin=Critical
                      Retsu=Burn or Fire.
                      Teki=Dripping Water
                      To=Freeze
                      Chi=Rock or Earth
                      Ei=Shadow
                      Jin=Rapid
                      Ten=Sky or Heaven
                      Ku=Ninth
                      Metsu=Annihilation
                      (Or literally, "All things that live must eventually die")

                        I think it's a bit of a pun on the reading, as the kanji used in "Blade: Ku" has the meaning of sky/empty.
