i figured since i have gotten a few tells about this id bring it up in the forums. seems most ninjas around 55 wanna know if they should start using the sword wise wizard bilbo. it be the sword with +3 eva, an +4atk.

so what does everyone think, i for one say dont bother. youd notice the the def down status effects, or the latent effect of parry from the hototosiu katana, alot more then you would the swords 3evasion.

I never used a sword until I started fighting HNM, where you build up tp before the fight to 300%, then use Spirits within.
Weaponskills like vorpal blade are neat, but they aren't better than blade:Jin/Ten/Ku if you are just xp'ing or trying to do damage.
Sword selection isn't all the exciting either, until you can use something highlevel like a Wing sword+1

i carry my cerment sword+1 with me always. just for added ability to renkei. i set with a drk, so to create light, we are limited to war, drg and rng to start off the light chain. if we cant find any of these or we happen to come across a monk, then we usually do rlb > howling > spin slash. which from my observations, light hits for a good 20-30% more than it would normally with a 2 ws light.

if im not involved with the renkei, its katana all the way.

i did use the wise wizards bilbo for a bit. its not a bad sword to keep on your off hand. just keep that sword skill lvld my sword skill is capped at 214... while katana is 249. big difference but isnt noticeable if you use sushi.

so many pts not caring what i used, an what hand it was in caused me to stop lvling it. an with my current gear set up i dont think the 3 evasion to me will not make any difference.

i am thinking it would be ideal if you were to lose the 1 dodge earring for the eris earring. you could equip the sword so you dont lose that +3 evasion. thats what i told one of them they could impliment it in the fasion. :confused:

I've been using the Wise Wizard's Bilbo in my main hand for 4 levels now and I love it. I use it for Spirits Within to get back hate. Much better than any ninja WS can do for me at this level. I never WS unless I lose hate or think I'm gonna lose hate, so I tend to have over 200 TP when I use it.

growing up as a ninja, i always thought blade retsu did a good job of drawing hate back, not only that was most times it be paralyzed. so even if id did run the other way, it wouldnt be able to get off a hit..

i always found blade retsu to be teh craps. never really liked it imo. i ended up using blade to after u weaken. but that was only sometimes cool.

blade jin w/ brd in pt is wonderful, otherwise i like blade ten usually.

taru spirts isnt really that spectacular ; ; 300 tp give me like 350ish dmg which isnt bad but thats never once a fight so meh~

If I can get my hands on a dissector sword I might use a sword more often.
Cermet sword+Spirits Within on gods is so damn silly and emberassing but it get the job done
