Shihei as much as 10k/stack now...

Blame the crafters i guess, but there just selling it for that much because people are buying it. They are just trying to make money too. It's about 8k on ragnarok now.

Shihei was 15k a stack yesterday. Elm logs 10k, stack of lumber = 30k.
I sold myself a stack for 1gil out of protest, I got a tell from a shihei maker asking if i was planning on lowering shihei price

I'm not complaining about the prices at all. Heck, if all other items increased why shouldn't the price of Shihei increase as well. I'm just hoping for SE to step in and actually broaden our horizens by increasing more ways of acquiring elm logs and such. If I head to the Outpost right now, all I'll see is bots. SE should give us more ways of getting elm and other tools items.

Ohh and by the way, the price of Shihei in Kujata increased yesterday (Sunday) to 10K. Some even went as high as 11K. It went from 6-7K to a whopping 10-11K. If it keeps flunctuating at this rate by December, I'm guessing Shihei prices will be around 20K. And I'm not being nice here. I don't know what sparked this inflation but I wish the price would decrease. Some NINs I know have stopped leveling like Ayameheishi. Ayameheishi has kick ass gear and her tanking capabilities are amazing. She told me awhile back that she would pause leveling her NIN. After I heard this I was shocked. I continued leveling NIN. But now, I observe the PT Setup before I make any haste decisions. "Wasting" Shihei now would be too costly. On top of that, most PTs I enter are asking if I have Scorp. Harness yet. Scorp. Harness nearly went up by 20% of its value during this month. It's starting to decrease but at a way slower rate. I'm contemplating whether or not to get a Byrnie. I know the AGI-3 seems harsh but I can make up that on my ring slot.

Our economy represents real life economy. Supply and demand comes into play in FFXI as well. But, unlike real life, we don't have rules set in place to strictly stop inflation of items. The Wall Street, Toronto, London and Tokyo have all of these. Just my two cents....

The price on Fairy is roughly 15-17k ; ;... I have to keep my Ninja subjob quite underleveled due to this. Hence why at 40 I'm either bucking up and leveling GA, or buying a shield and just doing Axe then switch off to sword when axe is capped and the party doesn't mind... sad stuff, I liked Nin.

Prices are getting crazy, and I'd like to do woodcraft-- But it's just too costly to level on my server. That, and logging = impossible.

yeah its funny how people months ago said wed never see the impact of gilsellers in the economy. yet here we are an i know on my server every item to make powders has gone up like bad. beastmen blood is close to 27k. 10k+ jump in the last couple of months. logs went from 4k. to 10k.

i dont blame the powder crafters. only cause without hqs when you think about it. all there doing is trying to make a small profit, or break even. im going to blame S.E cause we all know they hate the ninjas

I have a friend that makes me shihei for 5k a stack or less, im still looking at raising woodcraft to 60 though.
I make my own kaginawa already, mainticore hairs go for 7k each now - time to kill more manticores.

Expect shihei to drop down again. No more gil-seller domination of that source at least.

By the way, returning to these boards to become a NIN (Refresh-whoring became too boring) and I wanted to post a good idea me and my RL friend came up with.

Get you and 1-3 close friends. Get at least 10 stacks of the item's price you want to change. Set the price lower than the current price and have your friends buy it from you through the AH at the lower price. Trade back your shihei and gil to each other. Cant do this for like a 8k->5k drop, but if done repeatedly every couple hours, the price -will- go down. Me and my friend got light crystals down to 4.5k from 6k for awhile with this method.
