Huh???????? if you do that you'll disgrace the Ninja name!! Blade: Chi would be my best bet. I'll have to look it up.

Well since Ninja WS's are heavilly elemental, the only options tend to be the multi hit ones.

      So...

      Blade: Retsu x2
      Blade: Chi x 2
      Blade: Jin x 3
      Blade: Ku x 5
      Blade: Metsu x 4

..hmm...I can't believe I never realized how many multi hit WS's Ninja has..guess it goes with the motif.

I only have up to Chi now, and using that with SA works best damage wise out of it and Retsu. For you way up there in 75 though, I'm guessing that Blade: Jin has the most consistent SATA damage, where as Ku may potentially have the highest but you'd need acc gear to macro as the 5 hits are unfortunatly supposedly a bit inaccurate.

I'm guessing though, that Metsu is the most powerful WS to stack with SATA, as the few things I've heard about Metsu say that its the most powerful of the Ninja WS's. Unfortunatly I still don't hear much about this mysterious WS.

i've tried doing SA+ws but it doesnt really seem to help damage at all. Blade:Rin is the only physical one to my knowledge, which we all know sucks horribly.

I have done 500+ SA'ing tachi:enpi with a gkatana and i'm not skill capped even, that might be a better way to go regardless that it is a C rated weapon. You aren't going to miss because of sneak attack so you can swap to str/atk gears like pallas bracelets/byrnie for more damage.

Maybe your right. Thing is is Nin/Thf is fun and useful sometimes but the two jobs are kinda polar opposites of eachother. Aside from the dot with dagger, Thf's concentrate on big, gigantic hits that do massive damage all at once, where as Ninja's are geared more towards a multi hit acumulation style. The Katana WS's seem to be more around speed/getting it out faster for a quick little boost in dmg more than overwhelming giant attack. So maybe using a GKT is better for that since that weapons more geared for big single hit damage.

Although maybe if one of the multi hit ws's had a lot of accuracy poured into it it'd be potent enough, but I can't find out for certain. Dagger's WS's are specially designed for big hit SATA damage, and slower but stronger weapons take more advantage of that one big critical you get (Although its more to keep them alive)

imo 1 h Katana WS's just don't seem like they were designed to be used with SATA.

Try SATA + Blade: Tin. It's single hit, so that means the extra damage from Sneak Attack will have the largest overall effect, since the extra damage only adds to the first hit in a WS.

My nin is only level 22 now so I haven't been able to test it, but supposedly the damage from SATA + Blade: Tin is good. Of course, you'd have to macro in STR+ and Attack+ gear for the WS for full effect though.

I believe Blade:Ten is air elemental. If a WS is only one hit and it has an elemental property it won't stack with SATA. Strange how SE planned out the SATA system..but its how it is.

I asked some LS Ninjas and Blade: Jin, Blade: Ten, and Blade: Ku are all physical weaponskills. They also confirmed that Blade: Jin (3x hit) and Blade: Ten (1x hit) were best to use with SATA in general, but that the multi-hit effect of Blade: Ku made it good on Too Weak mobs.

Some of the thief WS that would appear elemental seem to stack with SATA as well, such as Shadowstitch. Kinda wierd indeed.

SATA with Shadowstich (unless they have changed it in the last few patches) just increases the time that the bind effect lasts. Similar to SATA with Wasp sting just makes the poison last longer

I see.. The SATA system is really kinda confusing, but that does make sense that...

SATA stacked with physical weapon skill : Augments the physical damage

SATA stacked with Elemental weapon skill : Augments the elemental effect (so it would depend on the enemy's weakness)

SATA stacked with Multi hit : augments the critical hit change of the multi hit (which multiplies the damage in the end) By ensuring the first hit.

SATA stacked with something that has an enfeebling effect:
                    increaes its potency.

Could that be it? Its something I haven't heard Thieves talk about really..I just assumed it was cut and dry but well..its never quite that simplistic is it?

i have tried sata with all ws up to blade:jin, and the only one i noticed somewhat of more dmg is blade:retsu, but not much at that.

i thot that sata only worked with physical ws. ie: viperbite, fastblade, combo etc. any elemental dmg ws wont work. ie: cyclone, rlb, blade To etc.

elemental i mean, it says in the blurb "Deals Wind Elemental Damage" not the little box next to your ws name in /ws.
