Evasion Torque

wondering...
the + evasion skill on evasion torque only shows up when you're level 75, does it still have effect if you're lower than 75?

whenever you wear it your evasion skill is boosted by +7

It shows up at any lvl, at 65, my Katana/Ninjutsu are capped at 223, and my Evasion is capped at 230.

Some items seem to add to the visual number some don't

Probably a fault on the part of SE, they're all there.

Bard song, mambos don't show up either for me nor emp harpin, but we know they work.

Evasion Torque shows up as soon as you put it on.

The reason some (read: almost all) items don't show up is because items like emp pin, mambo etc add to Evasion. Not Evasion skill which is what Evasion Torque adds to.

What is the difference between Evasion skill and Evasion (ie: from equipment)

I know weapon skill = about 1 attack and accuracy up until a certain level (not too sure on that, I've never taken a melee job past 30). Is 1 Evasion skill = 1 Evasion, or, < 1 Evasion?

I am not completey sure but lEvasion Skill gives more then 1 evasion.. maybe not 2 maybe not 1 but maybe like 1.2 or something... Becuase If I use an Evasion skill item I evade more then using one thats just Evasion, like Melody Earrings seem to be far better then Plat Earring +1.. This could be just something I want myself to think but it seems that Evasion Skill is more important then Evasion itself.

It's still hard to say as SE probably doesn't put any straight fomula in.

Not to mention unlike defense, your "luck" comes into play.

Suffice to say, there's not much to choose from, so just use them and know you're evading better.
