NIN Advice Please

Well I've been leveling my WAR lately as a SJ and for the upcoming Promthvion Missions that I'm doing for my LS this weekend cause I've been told that WAR/NIN are better then NIN/WAR. Hopefully I'll go back to NIN soon ^^

Yeah, I've read the logs that was posted here a while back and it seems that NIN/RNG is indeed a viable solution to an alternative sub then WAR so it's pretty cool ^^ However I think I"m sticking with just NIN/WAR as....well shihei is not 8k ; ;

Oh and it's a losing battle against the gilsellers in Castle Oztroja ; ; I think I'm at 20 claims now 0 drops out of like 100 spawns ; ; Oh and they raised the Och. Kote to 1million now *joy* (so much sarcasm in that *joy*)

hey guys,

been lvling a bit lately, well more so that usual :\ i work so i dont get home till 730 so i dont have much time to play each night. but have been able to get some good pts in the past few days.

all i have to say is that smn is a nin dream come true. i had a real generous smn last night, usually most smns get kinda lazy on using skills. some only give stoneskinga -_- but last night we had one that was giving stoneskinga, fenrirs acc/eva++ and all stats++ and using healing ruby ^^

on a down note, drg are really >< i thot id give one a chance last night when making a party. he plays fine but dmg output is so low. he had trouble turning the mob when doing renkei, had to provoke+ws everytime and that didnt even do it most the time i really feel bad for drg, they need to give them more blunt spears to play with or high dmg staffs for them to use, its really depressing seeing him hit as much as i do with 1 hand. /comfort drg.

im not really bashing drg. im just saying what i saw, and its sad. i actually really think the job is cool, but the fact that piercing type weapons get such a big dmg deduction it makes them look so sucks. rng gets a dmg deduction too but their base dmg is so high, it makes up for it.

as far as i know, theres only like 2 lances out there that give blunt dmg. heavy lance and bourdousseseseseses or however its spelled. both are available only at higher levels. -even- with the enhancments of last patch, drg still isnt too hot. like whoopieedooo they can use throwing weapons now!

equipment does go a long way but thats another thing about drg, they cant wear a lot of the typical melee equipment. i mean, most drg wear battle gloves till their af.... thats lvl 14-> 50s?! geez man. :confused:

yeah agreed on the equipment part...and it sucks they dont have anything to make up for the lack of blunt type weapons...like rangers have ala the gun usage to bow useage if you wanna up your damage.

the last patch also allows drgs to MB with their pets, witch is pretty cool.

Actually I have been giving thought about me being the NIN/RNG of the 2 NINs becuase well............I'm more the type to spend gil like water whereas the otherone is well a more conservative type person shall I say? ^^

I can tell its my cap keeping me from being 100% accurate.

I NEVER use sharp shot where as when i was a rng/nin in the jungles even before level 30 i couldnt wait for the sharp recast timmer to be up again.

I use sharp only on IT+++s and if i notice i miss more then twice on a mob.

w/ the gunbelt at level 30 and that beater earring i'll be alot more accurate.

I dont even use a pirates GUN+1 because i cant find one, im using basically the crappiest gun available (platoon gun) untill i hit 30 when i can use my military gun.


zempten for my levels IMO nin/rng is the best possible combo i could play.

I cast hojo and blind nin magics to handicap the mob seriously bad, then blink uip and spam bullets, at times i wasnt even reblinking so i could spam the bgullets faster because the mobw as so slow and blind he rarely hit me and for not that much damage.


i am sooooo happy with the ranged accuracy capabilities nin has with a gun, this combo amazes me every time i play it truely.

i even subed out one of my beetle+1 rringss for a bow. ring +3 rng acc. +3 rng atk.
