  • what did you wear for rings ?

im just curious what rings everyone wore when they were lvl 43. right now im wearing +2 dex rings. but some nin i talk to wear snipers, some are wearing +2 agi rings.

is one any better then the other, or does one play a different role then the other?

i think dex is overrated. agi or snipers is better IMO...

I wear my mermaid ring and borrow a friends sniper ring. Don't buy the sniper though; price isn't worth it on most servers. An AGI+ ring will suffice as a replacement, though not an equal one.

Wear snipers then macro the agi in when your shadows are down.

If you can afford Snipers, go with them, can also try out Mermaid Ring or Agility Rings.

I use Mermaid's ring + Sniper's ring. Havn't gotten around to buying another Sniper's and waiting till my Goldsmithing is high enough to make myself agi rings. :spin:

                I use all 3. My provoke macro equips Merman's ring + Sniper's ring, then when I feel I have enough hate I use another macro to switch to 2x Snipers. When I'm on my last shadow, or shadows are down, or I'm debuffing, I macro-switch to 2x +agi rings. Wish there were more gobbie bags 'cuz NINs sure do need em <.<;

                    2xSnipers.

I tried out 2xTiger Rings. Didn't really notice the difference. Though I would recommend them if you're going for an all-out evasion/agility build.

i use 2x sniper's and if my shadows are off, i switch with a macro to 2 balance rings (when i hit 50 i'll switch to 2 phalanx rings)
                      and it works well

Even more so than Gobbie bags, I can't understand why some way to "quiver" Ninja tools hasn't been made or aparently even thought of by the devs yet. They could call them Ninja bags or something. Shinobi Kit: Shihei to put all the Shihei stacks in there. Usable only by Ninja's. I mean, it seems so obvious.

                        But well..you know....

2x +3 Agi rings. Better then sniper's in my opinion. It helps dodging and parrying which helps keep those shadows up a lot longer. With +6 Agi (And so much more with other equipment at that level) you'll notice a huge amount of evading and parrying.

It's the best idea for the average ninja who doesn't buy gil. >_>

The amount of evade/parry you get from rings is not a greater effect than what you get from snipers.

Snipers help you hit the monster more often, which leads to two things:

                            1- more hate
                            2- faster kills

The first one absolutely key. You could evade every single hit but if you can't hold hate well, you're a worthless ninja.

Mitsu mentioned this before and I'd have to agree. The higher level you get, the easier it is to hold hate, and part of that comes from better equipment/faster attacks, which ultimately leads to more damage. The difference from 69 to 70 was huge for me in particular, where I had access to the optical hat and fudos, which greatly increased my dmg. In many pt's since then, if I ever really tried it'd be impossible to take hate off me, so I'd have to reduce hate output for SC's to work.

Snipers help quite a bit with dmg, so if you can afford them use them whenever possible. Any accuracy+ gear will make it significantly easier to hold hate.

str rings for the win :D. but at 75 I'll most likely convert to AGI =/
