gimpness + harness

I'm currently a 66 Ninja with pretty good equips. Emp. Pin, snipers, bat cape etc your typical Ninja gear. The thing is, i try to be properly equipped and best at Ninja. But it seems impossible to get that one dreaded armor: Scorpion Harness.

I have this weird mentality that it would be pointless to have Harness at 75, and it would be more useful in Exp. PT. That's why I've stopped leveling at 66 to earn the money and make use of it for the last 9 level.

I just want everyone's thought on this. Would you feel gimped without harness? Would you level to 75 without it?
It's been really depressing lately as i'm trying to find ways to make 6 million, and even pondered the thought of selling off my Ninja gear and level another job for now.

Should i just go for 75 without the Harness?

I've PTed with NIN with and without the harness. There is a difference from what I see, but at 6mil for it, I couldn't 'expect' anyone to have it. But on my server, 3-4mil, it's a little bit within reach.

You can lv to 75 without one, I don't think you will be 'gimp', just not perfect

I got to 75 with only basic items since first job and way to lazy to farm gil but was easy since in a set PT that from lvl 60 to 75.

Scorpion Harness seems to be consistently obscenely expensive.

I found it interesting that pretty much every NA player on my server who got the harness has the THF job at a high level.

There are a handful of exceptions, most who got the gil by getting lucky with Argus.

I guess the conclusion I got is that having THF leveled greatly improves your ability to make money.

I have harness after sold Hauberk and Balin Sword.

However I wouldnt say gimp if you dont have it. Sure its a very good item, 10 acc 10 evasion aint joke, but not having it doesnt mean anything since its so expensive. if you can save gil, go for it. If you cant, its ok to use arhat gear and War Shinobi Gi later.

no i don't think its gimp not to have it as a ninja exping... so long as you have a good alternative, Byrnie for example.

that's pretty much not because of the harness but because someone who can afford it is most likely a pretty good player that knows what they're doing.

I have had harness since 57 when I could first put it on. I think it helps a lot, but I am elvaan too so anything helps. If you have the gil I say buy it, I farmed for over 1 month to get it + what I had saved up. I think it is worth it. Hope that helps

Its more that its the best body piece for thief available, and thus many ls decide to give their claws to their thieves before anyone else.

unless your thief is tanking IMO I think that the assault jerkin has nicer stats than the harness(also I'd say hecatomb is best of all but not taking that into consideration for this). Not that I'd wear the jerkin over the harness; harness is too damn cool. But I think Harness is more of a NIN and WAR/NIN item than a THF. But our THF get to tank things too so they will generally wear a harness.
