  • RNG or NIN Which is more expensive?

    If this was already posted please copy and paste the thread here instead of telling me to use search ._.;
Im considering RNG or NIN for a newly made character. All scrolls before Ni would be paid for with the Norg quests. I have a 49 that i can farm with. Question is which is more expensive o.o; Also out of curiousity what would be a better choice for Taru? Also how is NIN on invites? I heard RNG get pts in 2-4 hours which is good for my schedule. Thanks for any replies =)

ninja is more expensive earlier, ranger overtakes it later, they come out to around the same.

ninjas get parties fast, so do rangers. couldnt say which gets picked up faster, but at 65+ I think a ninja would because you usually pickup your tank then get 2 melees who can make a level 3 together, and if there are few then see if you can make a three step.

I would agree with ninjas costing more at the lower levels.
I throw powders around like crazy but any gun loving ranger burns gil faster once they start using silver bullets.

Or darksteel bolts / demon arrows.

The main cost for Ninja seems to be equipment.. not the powders or whatever imo~

... That's where your wrong then...

Ninjas and Rangers often wear the same expensive equipment... Emp. Hairpin... Leaping Boots... Nomads Mantle...

All that stuff both of them wear... so, so what? They both are the same? Hell no.

RNG spends thousands upon thousands of gil on arrows a week, and as does a ninja with powders. Once you have the equipment afor mentioned, you can basically just find anything wiht +evasion, and the majority of these items aren't that expensive after you've got hairpin.

Powders and Bullets/Arrows are the big money problem, not obtaining the gear in the first place.

A good NIN will spam Hojo, Jubako, Kurayami and the Elemental spells like crazy, but a good RNG will use the more expensive Arrorws, and bullets, while also spending money on shihei to keep blink up at all times. I think in the end, RNGs win tho.

As far as invites, RNGs and NIN get invites pretty fast. But lately there has been a big increase of people leveling RNG and NIN, so it could vary on your server. It all depends on how many other NINs or RNGs your level are LFG at the same time really.

Actually a good NIN will spend more then a good RNG. The cost of the Ninjutsu scrolls adds a pretty penny to everything else they buy. If it wasn't for having to buy the scrolls for the ninjutsu then the cost of NIN and RNG would just about be exactly the same.

                Ranger doesn't need that stuff.

That is true but looking at the AH price history it seems very rare that people take that route. So realistically NIN becomes more pricey because not all the scrolls are quested.

Also some of the scrolls you get threw BCNM, I don't know about you but lot of the terms and such people use when doing the BCNMs makes your chances of getting that drop for you to use very low. So low that buying can be a faster option.

Top rate ninja will spend more gil than top rate rng due to the fact shurikens are freaking expensive. Nin that doesnt use shurikens will cost less than rng. Fuma shurikens require a gold ingot in every synth....and thats for 3 shurikens per synth....with 192 delay. 30k gone in a heart beat lol.

Don't decide on a job that has a high price. Don't let the price of your job be what has the final say in what you will be, That was my mistake. I always though 'Hell no I can't be a ninja... too damn expensive'.

Well now that I have THF at 45, and can farm/camp(which I ALWAYS do) like mad to supply ninja... I'm considering taking it all the way, because thats what I wanna be, A ninja.

Don't choose one over the other because they are cheaper/more expensive. If you wanna do wicked DMG and be really useful high end game, for HNM's etc. Then be a RNG.

If you wanna tank your ass off, and arguably be the best tank around, but still do *decent* damage and get lots of invites either way, Be a ninja.

Tanking = ninja. Damage = ranger. You make the choice.

Fuma shuriken are not viable for exping, if only for space considerations. They only stack in 12.

Manji shuriken stack at 99, not to say that those are cheap (I understand that they cost about 45k/stack to synth).
