poping the Hototogisu NM

id dont know but i always got more skill up parries when i was in the yellow, then i ever did when i was in the white hp. an there was never a brd in my pts.

does anyone have a picture of this lvl 64 rare/exe katana? im curious what it looks like, as does my ls. we might do a run at it sometime very soon..

Don't have a picture on hand and too tired to dive in to get one but it's just the same icon and look as your standard 185 Hien, Hototogisu etc. Sorry to dissapoint D:

0/5 on hoto. Couldn't get Kitsuke NM to pop. Going to try some more over the weekend :sweat:

Um. . . the Hoto NM does not teleport back to the spawn point after he 2 hours. I was 0/28 on that bastard. 28 times he 2 hr'd and never once did he teleport. He just lays on the ground for a couple of seconds, and stands back up.

Many many times he has teleported for me, usually falling from a wall rather than the spawn point though.

There was a note in the last patch about Ninja mobs not teleporting back to spawn anymore. Its been fixed. Before the patch, in dynamis, a ninja mob warped back and linked a whole slew of mobs onto. sucked. Post-patch we had the same thing happen and the same spot in dynamis it didn't warp back.

Same behavior on Hoto NM i have noticed. Killed many times pre patch and a few times post. No warping is much nicer.

try having a thf buddy around. im a firm believer that th helps everything. i was 0/5 then a nice thf decided to help me out and it happened to drop. coincidence? *shrug*

A Thf in my LS w/ the Thief Knife and has been along for probably 7 out of the 29 times I've killed this now. TH3, still no drop.

Side note. To what level do you guys still use this katana?

I'm kind of feeling like i'll have outleveled this before I get it.

I'm still using Hototogisu and Kitsutsuki and will do until 70. As nice as attacking non-stop is, Fudo's are just too overpowered to turn a blind eye to.

i still use my at 71. my main hand has a fudo. i think i will be changing to 2 stun katanas at 72 tho.

All you people who had trouble getting this katana, I feel your pain. I'm just hit 0/10 about 10 minutes ago. My NIN is only 41, but I am determined to have this katana ready for my off-hand weapon by the time I ding 55. The positive comments about it in this thread and the unwillingness to give up keep me going back to Uggalepih to find a rattle every day. -_-

Also, the Kitsutsuki seems interesting. Does it have an absurdly low drop rate like the Hotogisu? I'd be interested in getting one, but dunno how many times I'd be willing to pop the NM.

Yea, i'd go with 2 stun +1's even though my hoto sits in mog house. The stun effect proc's often (1/17, sigh) lol
