So I've seen and heard good things about Ninjas that wear a Byrnie... kinda debating getting one but the -stats are kinda making me wonder. I can afford a Byrnie atm but not a Scorp for a while :/ Wondering if anyone can comment on performance or if I should just get back to farming. >_<

It's really good if you can't get a harness.

The -3 agi(the most significant -stat) really isn't that much to give up for the other +stats, which definitely outweigh the costs.

If you can't afford Scorp, I'd go with Byrnie > Assault Jerkin > Scorp Harness.

Though with Assault Jerkin you loose 2 ATK and 3 STR, you gain 3 ACC and 3 AGI, which IMO is better.

I broke down and got one... I'm actually quite liking it took it into XP with a Ranger with E-bow :O and had very little problem with hate. We had a Thief but he saved fuidama for renkei and was the puller... made pretty quick work of cocks in Cape Terrigan at 63-64. My parry didn't seem to suffer too bad nor my crits.

Considering the stat loss I think I might stick with AF hands and feet but I might pick up Arhat's to try out. Arhat's never impressed me :/ Rasetsu however... yum.

I picked up a brynie today before my exp party ( @4700 to 60 ).

was in valley of sorrows, my average damage per swing went from 25-30 to ... well, ~28-35, but a larger amount of my hits were high, my highest regular was 46, which was just awesome.

I have to say, screw the harness, byrnie+peacock charm, or speedbelt ^_6 not sure which to get first.

All that attack will surly help you when fighting stuff that hits you for 0 damage :D
Harness > all.
And if you can't afford a harness get that cardinal thing at 73 or whatever.
I personally stuck with ninja AF till then. It looks cool and the unoticable 0.05% less delay or w/e is pretty hawt sauce.

Overall with the setup I have now I barely lose hate... and my weaponskills do respectable damage. I kind of still want a Scorp but Byrnie is definitely changing my perspective on what a Ninja is capable of.

The setup of having 70% Agility/Evasion, 30% Attack/Str seems to be pretty successful in the cases people have described. It keeps you in that odd middle ground area between evasion and attack Ninja's reside in.

Stray, I'll still let you borrow my Ochiudo's Kote to see how much of a difference the 40+ Attack makes sometime soon. My CoP is installing now, its unfortunatly taking like..a billion years. But I'd like to see if that works pretty good. Maybe if it does, when I get to that level I'll try Byrnie myself, and keep Rasetsu Tekko and Ochiudo's Kote on separate macro's to switch depending.

40+Attack, Kabobs, Berserk, Duel Wield II or IV+Double Attack, and maybe optionally Fuma Kyahan may give some great spam damage in well timed intervals, with that Mermaid's ring it'll make keeping hate much easier and dish out a good amount too.

If you need to once you have hate, you can always macro switch to more evasion oriented stuff like the AF boots and Rasetsu Tekko. It could be an interesting way to play Ninja in those particular levels.

I def would like to... rdm AF3 ended up being a doozy that one day :O my bard friend got wiped out first AoE.

I saw one Ninja around who was *all* about attack gear... she actually had in comment Tank <|No thanks.|> or something relative. Had some of the nicest katanas available in the 50's 2 Shinogi's and the last time I saw her on seek claimed about +50 attack... I wonder what became of her...

Regardless I'm @11k until Dual Wield IV *drool* hopefully my whm and brd I've been set trio-ing with are around to xp today.

The charm of combining Byrnie with Ochiudo's is that you get a STR and massive Attack boost for the cost of only two equipment slots, the rest can be dedicated to all Agility, Evasion, or even Dexterity. Two slots also means its really easy to macro switch incase you need more evasion, it could give you a lot of options in combat.

That is, if one of CoP's new armor's isn't just so incredibly badass that you want it instead.

definately going to want to invest in arhats hands and feet. the evasion and enmity bonuses are very nice and you dont really need that +10 ranged accuracy or +25% movement speed in EXP :/
