  • Nin/War made dmg dealer?

    We all know if we want to actully deal damage with Ninja, we have to have warrior sub for one thing. Now I am just curious, I have my NIN at 26 and I am in yhutunga. Cant blink tank mandys worth beans so it be waste to blink tank them. Now since I am lower lvl is it possible I could deal a reasonable amount of damage during battle if I focused on attack and str? Also is it possible for a NIN to deal reasonable damage throughout there career?

    I do believe I read somewhere on these forums that 60+ or around that lvl range they get dual wield III? Which makes them attack extremely fast. Just curious since I have heard so many arguments going back and forth about this.

    Against mandys anyone can deal decent damage. Pick up Beetle+1s and Spike Necklace/Courage Rings and have at it. I did tank those levels myself, it can be done with enough +EVA... but WAR/MNKs with Great Axes will embarass you.

    All the way up? Nah. Katanas are pretty weak, and the weaponskills aren't as good as what "real" DDs get. They get high DoT but that's kinda overrated... you're losing more to the mob's defense with a bunch of weaker attacks than fewer strong ones.

      Just so that I don't indadvertently derail the thread, I wanted to clarify the original question.

      Are you asking "how can I do the most damage as a NIN in Kazham?" or "how can I do the most damage as a NIN/WAR in Kazham?"

      The two questions have very different answers.

        NIN/WAR, because every other combination seems worthless in my opinion.

          NIN/WAR is a decent damage dealer... 70-100 damage per katana(non crit) on Aura Statues if you have around 660 attack >.>

          But in that same PT your RNG is doing 200-250 damage per hit... so we still suck :/

            There is a proven effective way to deal damage as NIN in Kazham, but it's not NIN/WAR. In Kazham, (which is pre-30, pre-Berserk), /WAR doesn't really help your damage at all.

              People tell me after Dual Wield IV that doing one handed weapon damage 2-3-4 times per round with speed thats a little faster than a One handed Axe can rack up to really nice dot damage, even faster with the haste spell, song, and gear like Fuma and Speed Belt. Its not like, dedicated damage dealer insane but its very well balanced for a tank. Thats if you load on Evasion equipment, I imagine at those levels if you were in a position where you weren't tanking, replacing all that evasion gear for atk, str, and accuracy/dex for critical hits and accuracy, I imagine it must be very well balanced, especially with the quick tp rebuild. Could work fantastically with a Mnk, a Sam, and a Blm to mb. Spam and fast tp build. But since you mostly tank, its just well balanced. But a /War can certainly hold they're own as a fighter in situations I think, just don't expect Drk or Mnk kind of stuff, Ninja's a variety kind of deal.

              If you go crazy with ranged accuracy, you could get some spam and use shuriken, but Shuriken are a bit tricky to use past 50. /Rng would help more with that, Mitsu knows more about that ordeal with the Shuriken than I do. But while they're realy innacurate in most levels after 40, during the 20's I kept throwing capped so it actually helped a lot to throw, after every other melee round. In the 20's and 30's throwing can be a very useful crutch to help Ninja's somewhat weak Dual Wield at those levels.

              Its at 45 and on when keeping throwing capped starts to become difficult..

              The goal of all Ninja tanks is to be a well balanced evasion tank and a balanced damage dealer and enfeebler at the same time.
