Rehash. Ninjutsu INT or MND

Being an engame ninja and hunting god hnm I needed a way to increase my effectiveness. I dont want to become a spirits whore so i decided to concentrate on ninjutsu. I need anyone that may know pls give input on what stat will help my ninjutsu the most. Mainly for sticking against hardest HNM in the game. I already have +12 to ninjutsu skill and im up for my Af2 in our constant dynamis runs which will give +22 total increase in ninjutsu, also whether its INT or MND ill sub whm or blm respectively.

I'd be wary of asking a question like this. You are almost guaranteed to get a bunch of superstitious replies based totally on anecdotal evidence.

My position on the subject is, +Ninjutsu skill definitely affects Ninjutsu, and everything else is pretty much random guessing until Squenix tells us differently.

I'd guess INT.... You could probably test it by decking yourself in some INT gear and doing some elemental Ninjitsu, then some MND gear and noting the damage difference....

lol, well to set things straight NIN/WAR is total crap for harder HNM. Now the reason behind NIN/mage is for possibility to be actually usefull and not a spirits whore -.-. Ill try INT but im leaning more in the direction of having ninjutsu stick to the hardest of mobs SOMETIMES.

I had my LS bitching at me today to level faster so I could tank Ose. >< we had a fun outing last week where we drove a 75 pld away against Voivure too o_O. Tanking the shadowlord at 55 was a hoot... 68 drk did a spinning slash behind me... he wasn't going anywhere >< I guess I could have gone as thf but... the drk or drg weren't up for tanking ;;

While I'm 18 levels away from 75 my Ninjutsu has been max for a while now... use spike necklace or spirit torque dependant on whether I'm going to have a thief or whether it's night or not. Never really noticed enfeebles sticking any less with -6 mnd. I'd vote int... but by that rationale thf might be best... 3rd highest int in game behind blm and rdm... probably 2 or 3 int off rdm/blm sub tops at 74.

Can you please explain to me why NIN/WAR sucks for HNMs? Im planning on lvling NIN to 75 and want to know why they're not good for HNMs. My clan plans on going for HNMs regularly(sp) very soon. So I need to know.

Any good ninja can tank most hnm fine, but the only problem is hate. The way things are a brd singing madrigal could rip hate from a ninja at the start of the fight. I do believe that given like a minute a ninja could build up enough hate to tank a god hnm faily decently, but when you have 3-4 PLD standing around in full adaman and some with koenigs, its just a waste of manpower. If yoou have access to no decent pld i suggest to try the ninja tanking approach. Ill tell you this if you plan to take ninja to 75 you can make more gill than most any job simply bc you can solo almost anything. Prime targets are serket (vewy easy to even a poorly equipped ninja), amemet, and aquarius (plan to spend 10 or so min meleeing this crab).

there seems to be a misconception regarding the ninja sometimes. where you see the jp ninjas in full god gear and best equipment available and lower level players start drooling over it. it takes a lot of dedication and work to have your linkshell trust a ninja to main tank the HNM's and nothng that can be done overnight. But, don't expect to picked to main tank all the HNM's just because you are a ninja, because honestly a pld in nice gear can do just as well (seen it doen before). so...if everyone wants to be useful in HNM god runs, become a mage or a ranger. having more than 1 ninja in a HNM fight can be more than enuff, and others will feel not needed, but with rangers that is never the case.

exactly...also for hnm fights you will see more diversity in sub job. Like THF/DRK RDM/DRK NIN/RNG etc...in the end its all about your ls. For mine I like efficient fights and my members do do as well. just remember a ninja can do many other things than tank during a hnm battle.

What can Ninja's do other than Tank? I really dont know beacuse I've always tanked as a ninja.

1) A in throwing, so with capped throwing they have a godo chance of landing those throwing items (can't think of the names :sweat: ) to take off the God's En-spells.

2) Debuff the mob so PLD can tank more efficently and BLMs can nuke for more.

3) Spirit's Within whore.

Just because I can't for the life of me figure out why my AF mask has +5 chr on it...

Does chr affect Ninjutsu?
