Actually if you think about it, a ninja/dragoon could be a good puller. Think about it. Jump at the animal and hurt it a little bit, and you will have utsusemi for the way back. (I'm trying to help you here starwind.) Plus, if fullmetal could get to level 75 as a blm with a sam sub, then think about the possibilities......LMAO.

And by "contribute", beef didn't mean contribute to the party. He meant the Drg sub's contibution to the overall effectiveness of my Ninja. This is evident by the fact that after he stated that, he posted other subs for Ninja and explained their effectiveness/advantages over the Nin/Drg combination.

So now I'd appreciate if you really shut the hell up. You've made your useless point, so you're done. There's no point in replying to continue this argument any longer.

I'd like the thread to return to what it was originally created for, discussion about the sudden increase of Nin/Rng. If you want to b*tch to me about Nin/Drg, send it through the PM system.

Actually, the argument against inefficient subs like /DRG is that you aren't contributing [enough] to the party. I doubt you will find one person on this board that will object to any combo you can think of... if it's used for soloing.

That's not what it looks like from reading beef's post. The context indicated that he is talking about contribution to the Ninja class.

But I do get what you're saying. I don't care for the arguments, though, as indicated by my posts; I give no reasons as to why I chose Drg as a sub for Nin, except for the fact that I like it and wanted to do something unorthodox.

It's a simple opinion that I posted. I expected feedback like this, but did not mean for it to drag this long. As I said, I would like the discussion to head toward the direction it was once coming from. If anyone wants to argue to someone who doesn't care, we have the PM system. That's why it's there.

i am currently leveling my nin with rng sub. i'm sick and tired of nin being classed as a tank and nothing more. somewhere along the line, people realised how nin are the best tanks when blink tanking and warped everyone's view on the ninja job. its such a shame that square designed the job so bad as i remember playing FF5 on the snes and my hardest hitting, most powerful character was a ninja. i did'nt expect to see 1000 dmg or anything close to that power in FFXI, but i did'nt expect to see nins be totaly weak and nearly useless in everything they do except tank. its almost like square never ment people to take the ninja job past 37 and for it to be only used as a sub job.

as people have said before, ninjas do a few things. attack, enfeeble, tank and pull.

attack - damage is rather upsettingly low, even with war sub when fighting IT mobs. solo however ninja makes quite an awesome farming job since your attacks do a lot more, and 2 hits too.

enfeeble - while brd and blm (to a degree) can lower resistance to an element, nin do this quite well IMO but you never see this as rdms are considered enfeeblers and back up curers.

tank - best tanks in the game end of story. put plds and wars to shame and if done well, the whm never even needs to cast a cure.

pull - they can do this but if you have a rng in your party then you will be overlooked for some reason. i dont understand this as nin can be even better pullers than rngs can (if they dont have ninja sub that is)

all up, ninjas have been classed as tanks and that is really just sad. square seriously need to adjust this job or give them some form of trick/sneak that ONLY nins get when in main. mabye a sneak/trick JA that DOES stack with elemental attacks/WSes and effects both attacks? this would bring life back into the nin job as more than just a tank.

By "contributions to the ninja class", I mean how well the sub-job works with Nin as the main.

And yes, I don't care. I don't care WHAT they're telling me, but I do care that they are telling me something; most of them in an annoying fashion. I respond to those in that way.

Wtf do most of you care what he subs? Since when is it your concern? Why does everyone have to do the same job combo to get the best out of the PT? Or even have fun. Go Nin/drg if you want, nobody is stopping you. I dont mind any job combo as long as they have GOOD equip. War/whm, ,get VIT and astral and not have such a crappy mana pool. Nin/rng get acc items/AGI and spam stuff so you actually hit the mob. Dont get some lame envasion equip when your not even tanking, get acc or atk instead. Whatever works.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. This fellow understands. I decided to choose this. It's none of anyone else's business, so don't stress over it. You're only stressing yourselves out. Just don't care what I do and go on with what you're doing. If I don't get pts past 20, will you (Those that keep stating the uselessness of Nin/Drg) be there to deal with it for me?
