  • Level 12-37 expense?..

Assuming that I am level 12, and dont have utsusemi: ichi yet....how much do you think it will cost me, without all the fancy items such as hairpin, boots, etc....to take ninja to lvl 37 or 40?...

    Any input is appreciated, thanks.

D; the less evasion gear you've got, the more you'll be spending on shihei (powders for blink) anyways~ and in general, the less effective your Nin will be. I'd say pimp the nin out with equip that can actually be re-sold. Once shihei is gone, it's gone~

Note - of course, you'll still be spending a ton just on powders.. >.> but that's how it is for nin. Good thing is it ends at 37 for a lot of people XD

Rough estimate barring equipment costs for utsusemi: ichi I did quest by doing Zinc in Bastok cost me roughly 128 zinc at 300 gil = 38,400 gil about 4,300 a stack of 99 powder. For lvl's 12-25 I would use aprox. 1.5 stacks of powder per lvl so about 13 * 6,450 = 83,850 gil from 25-30 it took aprox 3 stacks of powder per lvl so 5 ( 3 * 4,300) = 64,500 (Dam Kaz ) 30-37 I got away with 2 stacks a lvl again so (4,300 * 2) * 7 = 60,200 gil

So aprox cost for Utsusemi : Ichi and powders I spent 246,950 gil

For equipment I bought every decent +evasion item I could +1 Bone Armor, Emperor's Hairpin, etc... so I prob. had about 300-500k worth of equipment on me at any given time... Although I believe that the gil spend on equipment I saved gil by spending less on powders.... (Btw I did not include the cost of Food.. just because I can't think of aprox how much I would go through per lvl etc) Say add 10 stacks 22,000 gil aprox spent of food

Also take into account that I took it upon myself and I think ppl had an expectation for me to tank... And I didn't do it gimp style (I would pull as well as tank to save MP since healer didn't have to heal puller). The advantage of this was that in PT's I tanked even with suck ass ppl We would commonly get 3-4 chains. With High rank ppl PT would get 5-6 chains commonly. So I'm sure it can be done cheaper but I was about exp and lvling as I made 1-37 in Ninja in about 6 days of playing aprox 4-6 hours a day that includes waiting for PT's and I did not get an invite 30 seconds after I logged on

As I side note I did see alot of ppl who were lvling Ninja as well around the same time... and they were doing it gimpish, by my standard.... they would usually cast blink a few times a fight and did not pull... (pull = 1 cast of blink aprox) They did not buy good evasion gear Emp Hairpin, Nomad Mantle +1, Dodge Earrings, etc.. As a result their healers had to send more mana healing == alot more downtime == less exp per hour. These individuals were in there high teens to low 20's when I hit 37 .. as I believe my heavy use of blink gave me a good rep... and I prob. got quick invites as well as better exp in PT's as I lvled with several ppl through several lvls and PT's who grabbed me whenever I was seeking... (hehe and they were very disappointed to learn that I was only lvling Ninja to 37 since at that point I had almost run out of cash and started lvling Thf again... which I must say is extremely painful after the success of lvling ninja Causing me to lvl PLD Although I hope to pick up Ninja again once I have a higher lvl character to better finance it As I know it only costs more with lvls exp going up and the need for me to use debuff Ninjistu as well which I didn't use 1-37 (So potencially I could have spent alot more)

        Excellent, Thanks guys.

I don't plan on gimping it up to 37, and 37 was just a rough estimate of where I'd like to get it to see how much it would cost me. I was thinking of going ninja main, but I think I might take RDM higher so that I can farm with it to supply my ninja....camping Hoo Mjuu gets boring after a few days so....

thanks again all, Very useful information on estimate prices.

I wouldnt call them Gimped not everyone has that kind of Gil to spend on +1's , Hairpen and other wants not needs.

True... but as I stated it was at my standard... As Replica stated.. if you can't afford the +evasion equipment just expect to spend more on powder... the advantage of investing in equipment is that it can be resold... were well powder is just cash down the drain... I would much rather *rent* a Emp Hairpin for 200kish and save say 30-40k in powder from lvl 24-37 because of that +10 evasion +3 agi and resell it later... than lose that 30-40k... if you see my point... and if you can't afford +1 Bone Armor, +1 Beetle, etc I would prob. recommend you hold off on lvling up Ninja... But then again ... and if your info is still current... talk about a gil drain RNG is the ultimate there... As a ninja ppl can tolerate you as say a puller only cast Blink to pulls... but as a ranger if you don't use Arrows ppl would really look at you funny

After leveling RNG to 55 (w/top equips) and now leveling ni with good equip and utsusemi, nin is costing more than my rng ever did.

Ok so I just got an amazing party, that lasted for a good 5 hours today in valkurm (no kidding hey?...amazing...and valkurm...) and my ninja is now only 1k away from level 16. Didn't spend a penny, because we have whm, smn/whm, thf, drg, and 2 ninjas, me being one.

Now, I did the quest for utsusemi a while back and sold it for cash so I could buy phalanx, so I didn't have utsusemi at the time, but the other ninja did. I spent absolutely zero shihei, and the party was amazing and made tons of exp. We each died once I think...but in 5 hours that's pretty good IMO.

So my question again, is, is it fair to say, If i managed to scrounge up about 400-500k, pretending I had already bought utsusemi, would it last me until about 40?...

I wouldn't go all out and get Emporer pin (*yet*), and I'd just farm lizzy boots if I wanted them....so this 400-500k would be mostly for average ninja equip, good evasion, and shihei...

Think that would last my until 40? Thanks again.

with 400-500k you'll be set I sure you could get to 40 np... my question to you is why not pick up an Emp Hairpin in the end it will save you gil as you'll spend less powders and at least in my experence has a pretty stable price... so your basically just renting it... and you'll get your gil back when you sell it off after lvling ninja
