  • 1.5 Mil in equip for 43

ok, as of now i have around 1 mil gil, but at 43 i will have 1.5-1.7 mil of gear. Sure i could make the extra left over by farming 20K per hour and blah blah. But is it worth is to have all of these items at 43?

    Mermaid Ring (150K)
    Sniper Ring (390K)
Evasion +3 earings (forget name) (60K per i think)
    Jujitsu Gi (100K)
    Fuma Kyan (150K)
    Emporer Hairpin (250K)
    Ochido Kote (450K)
    Survival Belt (2.5K)
Neck item at 30 that gives evasion +1 (is there something better?) (5K)
Both katana at this lvl+1 (20K per)
    Night Cape (30K)

Total = Around 1.6 mil (but prices may change)

go 2 sniper rings if you can afford it, make sure you have a hotkey to swap them out if blink goes down or you'll get hurt bad. As for the neck item, just go with spiked necklace till you reach lvl 55, then change to royal guard collar.

Agi rings are not better than Snipers?

I have a pair of both, but I was under the impression that Ninjas don't need accu gear.

Hmm... I was under the impression that - DEF gear, like the Sniper's, would be bad in case your Copy Images run out too fast.

Snipers are over rated. If you want to see how much more you would hit with +10 acc, buy some eyeball soup and test it out. Mermaids ring is really not needed because at 50 if you see that you have problems holding hate then you need to revamp your fighting. +2 hate is not worth 300k and sometime that extra hate could kill you. AND the almighty Ochiudo kote, while do see alot of ninja with them, i personally did not like them. YES i hunted for a week straight for a pair, and when i got them i was like OMFG. Then in my first PT I didnt "feel " that +20 atk so needless to say, i sold them. All in all it depends on what you want your nin to be, one thing to remember is that you CANNOT have atk, acc, and evade and still be effective. Choose 2 of the 3 and make it work. Acc+Atk can go nicely together as well as evade+acc, but sadly because of the equipment slots evade+atk will only give mediocre results. Note to the wise, if you decide to go with ochi, I suggest you stack atk as high as you can to take advantage of the starting base that the kotes give.

Edit: Also the - DEF on snipers is not even a concern for a ninja. You get hit HARD regardless, dont get hit

Agreed on the ochiudo's, i notice i hit for what, 5 more points against IT+? So i sold those, made 40k profit and now focus on atk and acc. in other departments, because they're cheaper.

Instead of holding hate through enmity, i'll try to hold hate through attk instead. I might sell that hairpin after i get my af headpiece and use the money to pick up an astral ring for my bst

Aight so i thinik i am going to do acc and evasion. To me atk isnt really important because with chiefkabobs and the best katana posible, i still dont hit for that much. Especialy with the comment about hiting for only 5 more dmg with +20 atk up from ochi kote, i mines well just go with federation gloves (+3 acc) and hit more often. thank you for all your help guys, if you have anything else to say go on and say it, ill keep checking this thread incase anymore info is put up, or suggestions ˆˆ

I have +atk gear for farming, there it makes a huge difference pushing attack to the point where nearly all hits are criticals.

Rarely I pt with a thf for fuidama so I actually need to do fast consistent damage to keep the ranger throwing sidewinder (or the blm that just loves to MB on distortion chain with freeze ) around from getting hate. If you stack all evade (and no thf to set hate on you), you will have problems peeling the monster off someone else in the pt if they get hate when you lose blink rhythm and take hits or someone else does alot of damage too early.

Stacking +atk and blink tank with berserk on all the time fighting low incredibly tough monsters nonstop is alot more fun where I am able to blinktank and keep up with other melee's tp and usually end skillchain +burst.

As for the gear listed above, snipers are totally a luxury unless you mess around with nin/rng or something weird (easier to just get BRD if you somehow cant hit anything) I used one sniper and balanced it with a phalanx ring for awhile but you will still get hit hard at a bad time as ninja (latest near death experience = take critical hit then footkick from beachbunny in terrigan for 500 damage leaving me with 16hp managing to reblink in time )

3 Mithra are better than 1...

I would think that sniper would be good since its +5 acc AND +5 rng acc (Shirukens ) Most Ninjas I see go all out on the +evasion stuff though, with +AGI rings (which also helps your ranged accuracy).

I'm finding a bit too much conflicting information so please forgive me if I ask a few repeated questions. I'd just like to have some specific answers.

                    My ninja is 37 so..

                    1. My main is a DRK and I already own two snipers. I can afford pretty much anything I need, so when it comes to it... Snipers? Agi Rings? Just what difference will +10 accu make for a Ninja? Also, at the lvl I can get tiger rings, should I grab those, the +3 agi rings, or keep the snipers?

                    2. Ochiudo's Kote. Yes or no? I'll have enough for them fairly soon but just how good are they? It's not so much that I have to spend 400k(I don't have anything better to do with the money), but more that I'm very curious as to how they'll affect me(both the atk and evasion effects).

                    3. What kind of food should I be eating? It seems as though many Ninjas range from attacking ranger to defensive ranger. I'm fairly proficient at chaining blink so far, but this is at lvl 37 vs slower mobs. If I'm only getting hit maybe a couple times a battle, do I really need defense food?

                    4. At 48 or whatever it is, I can get the lifebelt. Should I be wearing that or the survival belt? Or should I perhaps keep both in the event I might want to switch around? Or is there something else anyone can recommend?

                      1) If you already have snipers, and the monster 'checks' as high evasion you want to be wearing them. Connecting attacks even if they are not high damage will help you maintain hate.
If you aren't having trouble missing at all then dex/str rings if you want slightly more criticals or damage.
If your blink isnt lasting long enough and *you* are taking critical hits then +agi rings.
Rings/belt/neck are items that you may want to have an alternate configuration setup for and adjust.

As an example, if i'm tanking so well that I almost never have to cast ichi when blink tanking, that means I could swap out the survival belt for lifebelt or the 5evasion torque for spiked necklace to try for more hits/damage to speed the kills up.

                      2) Kote I would again say yes, 20atk from them becomes +25 when you berserk, I'm willing to trade 5 evade for that much attack still at my level - I havent died in about 20 levels getting xp :p.
They make a huge difference when farming monsters for loot, stuff that is up to even match that drops coffer keys wont die fast enough if you have too little +atk even with mithkabob.
Note: +acc is worthless for farming, I swap in atk or evasion only equipment here. If you really dont like kote after trying them out, they resell very easily, you cant go wrong owning a pair. Elvaan probably dont notice their effects as much as taru/hume/mithra because of their str advantage.

3)I use mithkabob 99% of the time - roast/broiled pipira if I happen to catch some when fishing.
Before utsusemi:Ni I ate fishkabob a few times if the mage is a bit iffy on being able to patch you up quickly should you start taking a beating.

4)Use survival belt until you can equip lifebelt, only swap in lifebelt if you miss too much. Survival belt does wonders for stretching out how long your shadows last.

3 Mithra are better than 1...

                        1. Get the Snipers Ring, they are a little overpriced, but you'll need the accuracy(even more if you're wearing Survival Belt instead of Life Belt). You'll have problem holding hate if you miss too much. Swap them out if you're getting hit. As much as people like bragging about them never getting hit, it's never true. Also, agility boost to evasion is very minimal, not worth it unless you're farming maybe.

                        2. If you have the cash, go for it. A single item boosting attack by 20, nuff said. If you think +20 attack is nothing, might as well go fight naked since it doesn't matter anyway lol.

                        3. Use attack food.

Um, this may not be relevant to the topic, but that shinobi set at level49 looks really cool, but only the +1 parts have any additional stats.

Soo...do you think buying the plus one versions would be ok, or should I just stick with jujitsu gi?

I wore jujitsu gi until I could wear royal knights chainmail, then used that until AF. The shinobi set does look neat, but it just screams 'cheapskate' to some people because of the low pricetag :p

From personal experience I would go with snipers or STR. I have sold 2 snipers and bought them 3 times total, also I have had an AGI and DEX gear set (topped out at 31 AGI and 27 DEX at 69) I didnt really feel anything with the +31 AGI nor the 27 dex, so why would one get only +6. STR on the other hand has managed to push my damage up considerably, BUT on high evasion mobs WITH brd support my acc is not all that good. So now im back full circle to the sniper rings. My gear is as follows for my 70 nin

Emp Hairpin>>>>>optical hat..ONE MORE EYE till full cluster
                              2Fudo

                              2dodge earrings
                              Arhats tekko
                              Arhats Hakama
                              Life Belt
                              Evasion torque
                              Nomad Mantle>>>>>>Bat cape
                              soon to have Ungar boomy

I have tried MANY different gear sets but I like my Acc and Ranged acc better, the only prob i have is should i switch evasion torque for spectacles /sigh. The only reason I decided to go BACK to snipers is because I used optical soup for that added acc and the results were real good.
