  • Money making for level 51 ninja~

Hi all, I've been getting enough money for tools and all with tiger fangs, but it's about time i tried to get some ochiudo kote things and have no ideas as to how to raise the money for them.

i've been on my "hurray, you made level 51 ^,^" break for a while now, trying to raise some money and catch up on synthesis and missions.

i tried camping the mee deegi for a while, but by the time i saw it on my screen it was already claimed, every time. i have a little better luck with the emperor hairpin NM, but that's not exactly a steady money source with so many people camping it now.

    so, any suggestions?

I camped Stroper for 18 hours, got him 90% of the time, none dropped and none of those who got the kills got it either, or at least said it didn't drop.

Looks like they reduced drop rates on stuff in general.

Edit: Had multiple Stroper Chimes spawn at once a few times...

Just keep farming. The time you waste waiting for nm pops you can easily farm up the gil you need to make your big purchases. Just slow your xping a bit. Which should not be much of a prob since you are in the 50's now and are /thf.

Hahaha (Sorry i threw that in for Hocus )

I just farm beastmen mostly in middle/upper delkfutt or seagrotto with whm sub (between autoregen from whm sub and hp drain katana I never have to rest). I only use stoneskin/regen if im feeling frisky and decide to kill dc/even match ones :p
I wouldnt bother trying for NM unless you can provoke or chi-blast - waste all that time for the off chance you win the pull and get the drop, but whatever.

If I feel like getting a party I just turn off anon and keep farming but dont turn seek on - just setting my search comment to

I dont understand people in such a hurry to level that they would sell their kote -.-

Hmmm, I could. I honestly dont think kote is worth the money IMO. +20 attack is nice, but at the loss of 5 evasion and 400k gil i dunno :/ What effect does that +20 attack really have? Maybe 2~3 extra points of damage per hit? You can get way over 20 extra attack from using miths and berserking. I dont know why people oogle over em so much. To me its just another hyped up item that people buy cause everyone says its awesome and the demand is so high. Dont get me wrong its not a bad item, i just think to use as a ninja is a huge sacrifice in terms of evasion and gil and not really worth making.

                  Whats everyone else think?

does -5 evasion really make that much of a diff?? especially in higher levels against IT++??

So what did you use besides Kote then ?

A list of what ninja's have to pick from pre AF gloves...leaving out the ones that only add Defense.

                      Level 40 - Ogygos's Bracelets 11 def HP+20 STR+5 DEX-3 AGI-3
                      Level 43 - Monsoon Tekko 10def RainyWeather : Accuracy+8
                      Level 45 - Carapace Mittens+1 11def [LTG]-3 Evasion+1
                      Level 49 - Shinobi tekko +1 12def +1dex
                      Level 50 - Enkelados's Brc. 14def HP+25 STR+7 DEX-4 AGI-4
                      Level 50 - Royal Knight's Mufflers 13def Accuracy+3
                      Level 58 - Sand Gloves 13def DEX+2 AGI+2 [ERT]+11 Sandstorm : Evasion+7 (RARE+EX) from NM lizard in quicksand caves

                      Level 60 - Ninja Tekko(AF) 14def HP+13 DEX+3 Ranged Attack+20 Throwing+5

Aside from carapace mitten +1 and Sand gloves, everything else is pretty mediocre.
I'm not in a position where the evasion down on kote is causing me to lose shadows too quickly - maybe when I get to fighting Torama or something that double attacks often ( mourioche = :dead: ) i'd use carapace mitten, but for now - no.

Kote+berserk+mithkabob+hototogisu and muketsu+1 katana = enough damage I dont need thf for fuidama which is why I am reluctant to give kote up also.

i still use "Federation Tekko", i don't have the money for the ochu's gloves, and i tried camping it a few times, very tough >.<

but the +3 accuracy and ranged accuracy is still pretty nice, even at my level ^^

Yes I use Federation tekko right up until Arhat tekko at 63. Navia sounds like you have a good hate keeping plan withe the added attack and thus negating the need of the thf. I went the other direction. I got a thf so i could worry less about +attack to keep hate and concentate on maxing evasion to tank better.

I was able to do this mainly by forming my own parties and making sure i had a thf. Later on i got in set pt with thf so hate keeping matter are a thing of the past.

To answer the other question: +5 evasion will not make much difference vs's an IT++ mob. But you dont want to be fighting those for xp anyway. Against IT and IT+ that 5 can make a difference though. A few misses can really speed the xp chain.

The real benefit of +evasion I feel is not for exping though. It for those special occasions outside of normal xp. HNM hunting, avatars, BCs, that kind of thing that hacing high evasion can really make an impact.

You DO realize that is one of those EXTREMELY rare drops? Its not an NM its a rgular monster liek the other Ooze's in Beadeaux and such that drop Dodge Earrings... It might also help if you havea THF sub or a 45+ THF with you for TH/TH2

Or you could just farm when its a full moon and get drops comparable to having TH if you are subbing something else
