Ninja tanking question

Ninja tanking obviously relies on Utsusemi. However, it takes too long to recast Utsusemi to be able to fit it between enemy attacks. The only way around this problem that I've found is to have someone else provoke to take the agro long enough for me to recast Utsusemi. This has worked as well as can be expected so far, but I don't remember Ninja tanks ever working this way in any parties I've ever had. Is there another technique to ninja tanking? If so, any input is more than welcome.

Your level 50 and don't know that Ninja gets another fast casting Utsusemi at 37?

Utsusemi: Ni is the answer - the cast time is much shorter than Ichi. Actually, after 37 I rarely see any PT having the 2nd voker helping the nin recasting Utsusemi in general unless the nin is silenced/paralyzed and he's dying

Thanks. That was a more basic answer than expected. btw, I'm not a level 50 ninja, I was a level 50 red mage when I made my profile.
