Last night I took Amemet and a Lizards linked are the same time, I did have a WHM with me but he used maybe 50 MP then he usualy does. The Lizard only used maybe 2-3 of my shadows tops after I enfleebled it.

I can name one important HNM that is most camped that NIN can solo while a PLD would get raped even with a party of 6.. Serket. When I started ninja I just wanted to be a duel weilder and I always thought ninja would only drain my money but it is the otherway around. I have made more money with Ninja then I could have with any other job. I am currently making 1mil average for 8 hours camping Amemet and thats assuming that I get it atleast 2 times in the period of time.

If a ninja is using Enfleebling and has atleast evasion+60 then there is no way a PLD can be better becuase he ninja will basically take no damage and will get missed 50% of the time that saves a lot of MP.

I used to play Ninja with full Attack gear (ATK+60) but I switched to Evasion (EV+60) at 70 and I must say I can sleep while tanking becuase even If I let Blink wear off I can start casting Ichi and there is a 80% chance I will not get hit due to my evasion.

I am planning on getting a Scorpion harness this week and I am going to try get Ungar Boomerang which will put me up to 74 evasion and 84 at night. With this kind of evasion its just impossible to not be the best tank.

But remember PLD is a FREE job (Besides the DEF food) and you can be a decent tank without being rich but the only way you will be a good Ninja Tank is if you have millions of gear. I am currently wearing 4mil worth of gear and once I slap that harness on I will be up to 9.5mil =\ And It not going to stop there!

All I hve to say is ninja is the most fun job I played.. You get to change equipment alot and they can wear most things (I love to change equipment) and they are really wanted, even if your not JP a JP party will invite you for certain things andmore.

The only bad part about ninja is the small delay lag that we get cause we are in USA, sometimes this might effect you a little but not always.

    Just my 2gil

considering paladins are supposed to be holy knights and all, they sure dont act like it. i dont know why paladins feel threatened by us. if a pt prefers a pld, go for it. if a pt prefers a nin, go for that as well.

stanislav: thx for all the great info. ive recently changed my gear from atk/str gear to evasion gear. im going to try this for a while and see how much of a difference it makes and try to find a balance that im comfortable with. what i enjoy about ninja and i feel that sets us apart from pld is that we can actually do some decent dmg while tanking for our pt. as far as earrings go, do you have dodge earrings? or is there something better at your lvl that you use?

I feel PLD often make Blink Tanking a "easy" thing to do. As you get higher its IS true that Blinking is easier but in the same sense it is not laid back go afk for 40 sec easy. I have expereinced PLD tanking and witnessed it , while i can say PLD are good at what they do, it doesnt even come close to what a ninja must when tanking. Doesnt matter how you argue it the job of ninja is most active melee job in game and only gets more active as time passes and your lvl increases. I really feel sorry for lower lvl people that only feel safe with a PLD or WAR bc once you experience a good ninja you start to experience 5-8k exp per hr pt. PLD tank can exceed that 5-8k/hr fighting bones with MNK in pt and for that i am jealous, not to mention those nasty little mandy ><

Sigh..why can't we just all get along :p

Ninja and Paladins are good tanks, as well as War/Nin. As dark knight, samurai, dragoon, etc. are good damage dealers. Who cares if ninja can tank just as well as us, go ninja!

The only thing about ninja though is that there are few good ones that I have seen, paladins are more reliable because frankly its made to tank, and does it easier. Good ninjas are few but the ones that are, are awesome. Paladin still looks cooler though

Heh, I've long gotten comfortable with the fact 80% of Paladin's out there despise us deep down. They're just upset they have competition from such an unlikely job. (Or heck, any competition at all. We wouldn't want to monopolize a whole job place now would we? :D )

I'm not really into the whole rivalry thing, I just wanted to be a Ninja. Paladin's and Ninja's to me are on equal grounding in usage. We can do some things the same, we can do different things better. Any average guy and his grandma can hit the enemy but tanking's a big responsibility, so I kind of respect anyone who does it.

And for you Maytrix, since you seem to be new, the main thing that separates Paladin's and Ninja's is that Paladin's can keep the monster attacking them instead of the others better than Ninja's can. In other words, "keeping hate". So that makes them more flexible in parties, just a bit.

Ninja's a little more of an ingeuitive job than the others, so naturally it'll be a little more difficult for most player's to grasp.

Don't believe the bs that Ninja's can't keep hate, that you may often hear. BAD Ninja's can't keep hate. Since Ninja's such a close reflection of the player's actual skill, unfortunatly you tend to meet those (lazyness). Although when you enter the 30's and 40's, the crappy Ninja's get weeded out really fast. Nin/War's that go high level are a real minority among JP players, and among English speaking player's they're a damn myth.

But thats what I love about this job, how much attention to detail gets you with this job in particular, and how rare it is. Dark Knights and the like are a dime a dozen, but seeing a fully equipped Ninja in the 50's and on is really a once in a while occurance. Specialness. For every 5 Paladin's there's only one Ninja. Its kind of like really being a Ninja in Vanadiel. Elusive and intense, way it should be.

I was told quite some weeks ago that Ninja's should start concentrating on Attack, but you know...I couldn't part with Evasion. I never got what was so hard about keeping track of the shadows and the misses. To me, spamming Utsusemi is more stressful. You have very little time to do anything at all. I like to be dynamic, so all those extra misses just help me out so much. I just restrict myself to taking action only during the first 3 shadows of Ni, and the first 2 shadows of Ichi. Ninjutsu, provoke etc. I don't try to risk it if I see I have one shadow left, but with all the misses thrown in thats usually a ton of time. Even with a humble +35 evasion I get at least 2 or 3 misses per an Utsusemi Ni. So its like, shadow, miss, miss, shadow, miss, shadow most of the time. Its very are I get a shadow, shadow, shadow kind of deal. Our A evasion (second highest of all the classes, and ours is the one that really counts..)plus any kind of evasion makes even tanking multi hits a little more viable, though still risky.

I think when someone created the Blink tanking technique, they must have figured the A+ parrying, A Evasion, and the blinks alltogether to make it work. Alone its alright, but with parrying, evasion, AND blink you can dodge almost anything (goddamn AOE's...) I don't think I could ever live without Evasion or Agility of some kind.

You know I don't have that much trouble keeping hate either, and I'm a Tarutaru. Casting the two Nin essentials (HojoKurayami), throwing in Dokumori and Jubaku in at some point, and keeping the enemy to me with damage, provoking, and cycling the Elementals (kind of like flash usage, its to keep you to the enemy. You were right Mitsu, its a nice mindset) Really the only time I lose hate now at least is when I party with a Ranger. It happens sometimes with the others but not really. I really can't wait for Jin and Ten, and Ku too because it looks so nice.

If we had Dokumori and Jubaku NI, keeping hate would be a cinch at that point. We all know if Ninja's are ever allowed any of the San's, that there'd be no mistaking what a Ninja'd be capable of then.
