Powder/Inventory Question

As a (currently) level 12 Ninja, I'm noticing I'm going to have severe inventory issues. I want to be the best Ninja I can be, but it IS expensive

My equip alone takes a good 12 slots or so, including both katanas and throwing items (13 once I get a re-usable throwing item like chakram along with my shuriken). I also carry a stack of Shinobi-tabi (For tonko, but I very rarely ever need to buy new powder for this) and Shihei. At level 15, I'm going to have 6 more powders to buy and carry, then more as I get the other debuffing ninjitsu (Poison, slow, blind, paralyze). That's 23-25 inventory slots just on my items (More if I carry multiple shihei or shuriken stacks.

Obviously, a ninja needs gobbie bags (Joy, more gil sinks). When do you think would be the best time to get it, or should I hold off on carrying every type of powder I can right now? I'm a clothcrafter, so I can make myself the linen cloth for GB1 (The ingot and skin are cheap too, both under 2k. It's that damn peridot that's going to hurt). Should I do those ASAP, or just limit what I carry?

I had already done the first two before I even hit level 30, I'm kinda surprised that someone could be pursuing advanced jobs and not have ANY yet.

Hopefully I'll have the money for 3 by the next time I log on - if there are any painites for sale. (Is there any way to get them other than AH or high level goldsmithing?) I hear 4 is cheap so I'll get that soon after.

I'm not leveling ninja much - yet - but I wouldn't want to take it past 15 without all four gobbiebags. Equipment, food, linkpearl, ninja tools... and some space for loot, you don't want to neglect that when you're playing one of the most expensive jobs in the game.

Unlike shihei, you'll only have to spend money on gobbiebags once (unless you start a new character).

Prior to level 30, I've never had so much as 10k gil on me at a time, WHM spells get expensive, and I went through Roast Mushrooms pretty quickly.

I'm high enough in clothcraft to make linen stuff now, so it's a source of income. Given a week or so I can save up enough gil for gobbie bag 1 I think, I'd like the second one too though. The third is really really expensive I hear though, so I may hold off on that.

to be honest, untill u can use the Ni elemental debuffs, dont worry about getting powders for them. the Ichi elemental debuffs are so crappy they arent really even worth using. so you really only need space for your shihei and any enfeebling powders. having 2 gobbie bags once u can use Ni elemental debuffs is sufficient. im at 50 and i usually have 3 stacks of shihei and 1 stack for 2 elemental debuffs (for whatever weapon skill/magic burst i will be using that night) and each of the enfeebling ninjutsu along with full set of equipment i have about 31-32/40 in my inventory, which will be enuff room for whatever u find from xp`ing. just remember to sort often ^^

I had 30 inventory till level 73 ninja... My Powders and Equip take 26 slots and I only had 4 slots usualy for extra things and usualy that was for Beastmen Seals and Kindred Seals and anything worht over 1k.

This weekend I went out of my way to spent 160k to get 50 slots...

I recommend you expand to 50 or else u will loose a lot of money from not lotitng during exp

I have all gob bags and its painful to only have about 8 slots for loots when we killed crawler hunters, scorp shells were dropping like mad

This has to be the worst aspect of being a Ninja. I usually end up with one or two free inventory slots (out of 50) when I'm ready to level, and it's a pain trying to get rid of everything when I want to take a break (everything other than Shihei seems impossible to bazaar, I usually end up vendoring 50k+ of powder for next to nothing). I really wish there were some way to stack everything more efficiently. Powder alone can take up nearly 30 slots, with a few stacks of Shurikens, Chiefkabobs, and maybe some extra equipment (if I'm lucky), I'm full.

Yeah if I go to gilfarm I usually send all the powder minus a stack of shihei/tonko to an alternate character on a 2nd account and have them send it back when I go xp.
It is a pain in the butt, but there is no other way to manage it, half of my mog safe has rare+ex stuff, subjob gear is all stored on alternate characters as well.
I need to buy a few armoire/chests.

So you can imagine how much inventory takes.. A good ninja will have both Attack and Evasion because some parties have mages that are so good at control MP that you don't have to care as much about evading and you can deal double the damage.

I had a drg,drk,war,mnk,whm,nin party that was so efficient that I swapped out evasion gear for more dex/atk while tanking took a few hits so the whm could cast something besides silena :p.

I can see the need to carry even more alternate gear pieces (I will wear haste boots 99% of the time but will still carrry AF boots for the cool effect once i can equip them).
Stuff like evasion cape and earrings do me no good if I join a party where I am the setup provoker for a thf to sa+ta onto a paladin, I really need to go all out on damage dealing gear.

I think kiyosuki was referring to a way for us to 'quiver' multiple stacks of ninja powders to reduce the number of slots.

Yes thats what I mean. You can't tell me it wouldn't be nice to put all those Shihei stacks into one, nice little slot?

If you want to get really dreamy and unrealistic, maybe some kind of Ninja pouch that can act as a separate item storage where you can stack up to 5 stacks of any powder each.
