Well red mage is expensive compared to some of the other jobs because you need to buy just as much armor and weapons as some of the melees sometimes, and then you also have to buy a lot of scrolls for spells. For ninja, the armor may or may not be interchangeable between the two jobs and you will need to buy scrolls and items that run out (much like a ranger does). I'm sure that the jobs in the game are not drastically different in how much gil you need to spend (they even out in different areas), but when I thought about it, the combo just seemed expensive.SAM 74

the blind leading the blind. a redmage is an enfeebler not a damag dealer, a ninja is a tank not a damage dealer, the only thing a ninja should sub is war, for provoke to tank, granted i will get some people in a few posts who say i'm closeminded or cookie cutter, or elitest. the only things a redmage should sub is black or whitemage, maybe maybe, summoner or bard, but only a support class, subbing mages to melees is bad, as is subbing melees to mages. these combo's have no use in mid-late leveling pt'sMarch 23 2004, a day that will live in infamy.

well i'm gonna go taru nin/rdm no matter what- i just wanted to know what people would think of it ^_^ and as i can see it will probably be expensive but *shrug* it will be fun and thats what the game is all about ^_~ but i'm glad to hear everyones opinions whether good or bad- it will all help me to improve. the only reason i want to go summoner is to get carbuncle, carbuncle is my favorite summon ^_^ anyway any one feel free to comment on my decision"A sharp Tongue Often Leads To A Slit Throat"

[edit] Mixed up rdm and ninAlso come to think of it, I'm pretty sure 90% of the nin's would tell you that /rdm is a bad idea, but since you're not going to listen anyway that's a moot point.

unforutnally by wanting to know what other people think, u open yourself to they're opinions. just because i didn't tell you what u wanted to hear doesn't mean i was wrong. i remember back when i started it hought rdm/nin would be kinda cool , then as i accualy played the game, something which i will note that u have yet to do. i realize how bad an idea that was, please don't come to sylph i have enough problems w/ the.... "unique" combo's found hereinMarch 23 2004, a day that will live in infamy.

Well, I guess I'll have to talk to him since no one else is. Yes, its expensive. I'd say get your RDM up to 38 with all updated spells first. I didn't do this and I know I'm going to regret it when I hit 60. :spin: One of the main things about this combo is you get enspells going on both weapons. You really have to know your monsters' weaknesses for this to be effective as well. Although you'll only start off with enthunder first...it works decently on a large variety of monsters. After you get every en except enfire and enwater (where I am right now) you're mostly fighting things that are weaker to enaero or enblizzard. Like, beetles and spiders in quicksand caves. Casting enspells about every 2 battles certainly depeltes your mp over time. Carrying juice with you, having a BRD in the PT, or asking a RDM for refresh every once in a while works well. You'll need to keep stock of the elemental jutsus once you get them to increase the enspell damage against that monster as well. Sure, a lot of people don't like different combos for serveral logical reasons. So, whatever. :p
If you wanna talk some more about it just private message me."Damn you! You'll poke us all straight to HELL!!!!!" -Onishin (Celestial Dreams Linkshell)

I really don't see the point in /rdm since enspell will never be a very high enhancing level, the spells that you can use for damage as a rdm arn't that powerful when subbed (let alone rdm main), and invisible is already taken care of under ninja. If you are looking for Phalanx at nin66/rdm33 it won't perform how you would like and Warrior sub would probably perform better anyway. If you want damage and special things nin/drk is probably how you want to go. I don't think this would perform all that great since I did hume nin/rdm untill level 12.Relic Stage 5: Excalibur Completed.
