Edit: I leveled my Ninja further now, and I must say: Blink tanking is no problem with the proper equips that I have and STR really helps the two weapons do more damage (str + haste is interesting). MND really helps Slow, Paralyze and Blind stick. I did a 100+ dmg MB with Huton: Ni at lv42.

I had the complete opposite leveling story. Actually, I solo'd to
16 fairly easily. I was even fighting "Even" matches throught that whole time. 16th level is where I finally started seeing down time,
where in after an Even match I would need a full rest. I actually
had an easier time than my career as a DRK where I solo'd upto
12 or 14, cant remember but it was definitely early Dunes when
I had to stop and wear my party hat. I must admit my Ninja was wearing upto date equip, had his tonko and Utsusemi by the required levels and was suped up on meatmiths. I know Im not the only one that didnt have such a hard time. Tonko also made
hunting very easy, esp if I wanted to secure my hunting grounds
while resting.

DEX is very important for Ninja's. I missed A LOT (with out exaggerating) against IT mobs.

That's the story right there, Elvaans have high strength but also low accuracy. A Mithra or Taru Ninja will have alot more success landing hits but the hits won't be as strong. As an Elvaan try to get your accuracy up.
