multiclass characters...?

Hey I need a question answered... So im thinking of creating a Ninja/Warrrior and building him up.. then switching to Sam/Warrior and building the samurai class up... Does mutliclassing on characters really make that character suck? Like stat wise, what would happen if i wanted a Dragoon/war and Dark knight and built up both the classes and if i wanted to play as a dark knight, switch to that class.. if i wanted to play as a dragoon.. switch to that class... Is this possible??
