  • Start out as War or Thief? Any Suggestion?

    Hi,
I'm starting a ninja, after reading these posts I realized that it costs a lot of money..and thief definitely has its advantages in getting money..so what do u all think..should i start out as a warrior or a thief?

    Thanks

If you do start as a THF its ok, but you should build WAR for the sub of both NIN and THF

    Warrior TP Warrior WS

If your long term plans are nin/war i wouldnt even bother with thf. You dont really make that much more money with theif abilities at that level. You'll also level up faster with a war starting out since a thf really is just a weak war until they get sneak attack at 15. The only other benefit of leveling thief vs ninja would be making it easier for keys to drop for that kazam airship pass quest, but even then, i did the quest as war and still got the keys very easily. So I would say unless you plan on going nin/thf or thf/nin, dont bother with thief and just stick with war till 30.

I just got my NIN class....and it was fun getting there. I lvl'ed my THF to 30. At first, it was tough because i didnt realize the joy that would come to me when i hit 15 (Sneak Attack). After that, it was all over with. The journey to 30 was simple. Everyone had WAR class in their group. WMG was the rarest, but a THF was always welcome. A quick 150 - 200 pts of DMG was always welcome, and the extra drops was a plus.

Dont get me wrong, WAR class is a big help for other classes. Hell, i am even subbing WAR for NIN till i hit 10 or so. But my goal is THF/NIN. Yokodama with possible Triple Attack and Duel Wield???

          THF hands down....

Actually the only way I decided I would fund my NIN job was through hunting Notorious Monsters...

After getting my NIN job, I camped Leaping Lizzy with my lv. 30 THF for about 3 hours and walked away with 230k gil.

I had Blink before I could use it.
NIN is a very expensive job, thus any way you can suck more Gil out of something, the better.

I spent 180k on my NIN before it was level 15.
With all the scrolls, powders, gear and travel expenses to get everything.

          Leaping Lizzy 1/6
          Spiny Spipi 0/1
